You know what’s great…LFG to better assist for dungeon group creation
You know what’s NOT great…waiting 10 extra min because you added someone to group that is quite literally halfway across the word and they NEED TO RUN to the instance…
No summon stones have no place in vanilla WoW. Classic World of Warcraft just like the true MMOs of the past are all about traveling.
MMORPGs should be worlds first, games second. The idea is you play a character adventuring in a fantasy world. That includes traveling, and even traveling across continents.
Judging by your previous posts, you don’t care about existing in a world. You are not a classic player, and you are toxic because you make destructive demands.
Yes there is. As I stated above, traveling is a huge part of classic WoW.
If either of you two don’t like traveling then you should play a Diablo game with waypoints.
We have summoning stones already, they’re called Warlocks. It’s supposed to be a little inconveniencing to travel halfway around the world, but the scarcity of teleports and “fast travel” is a big part of what makes the world feel so massive. You actually need to put some thought into how you travel from point to point.
Getting to the dungeon itself is part of the experience as well. Not being able to teleport means more people in the open world, and more PvP encounters.
It would also cheapen the Mage and Warlock toolkits, too. Part of what makes those classes unique is their ability to teleport people around and circumvent that inconvenience. Part of the reason it’s frustrating or difficult is because it’s meant to be.
Well said. Some of the best moments in vanilla was meeting party members in the closet city to the dungeon, then we would all travel together to the dungeon.
Summoning Stones still require three people to physically walk to the instance - same as Warlock Summons.
Mage Portals take you and the party to capital cities, Warlock Summons can be used anywhere on Azeroth. They are more versatile than Summoning Stones. Especially since…
Under TBC ruleset Summoning Stones are level-restricted to the dungeon and therefore cannot be used as a Warlock Summon substitute.
The problem is that when The Burning Crusade was released, players were abusing summon stones. I was in situations where I had players in Hellfire Peninsula and they were demanding to be summoned to Hellfire Citadel.
As I stated in my previous post, the best moments in Warcraft was how groups would meet in nearby cities and travel together to the dungeon, when summon stones were introduced, that no longer happened.
Fair, though this absolutely happens in Vanilla / Classic as well. People who hang around in the city / doing quests waiting for the Warlock to run to Blackrock and summon them.
Or that guy who ducks off for a coffee and a bio after a wipe, and lets the Priest run back and rez him.
