Welcome to The Great Push!

Ugh, can we just get some actual content instead?

I’m alarmed that they just keep doing what they want despite a huge amount of negative feedback not just from these forums but from all over social media and just ignore all of it.

How dare you ask for more content! Guards! guards! arrest her at once!

Homie, my point is that if you’re unhappy with the current balance, putting money into it now is not going to fix it right now. You’re still going to have to wait until 9.1 to see anything happen.

From a business point of view, Blizzard wants to stem the bleeding. Balance is bad, the content drought is awful, and COVID is slowly loosening up and people are going back to work. Blizzard needs immediate solutions to keep attention on their video game. There’s nothing wrong with Blizzard taking some money that would be a drop in the bucket compared to their full team’s budget and allocating it to what is essentially a glorified TV commercial.

Like, really, let’s be really real here, the idea that people would see a TV commercial and whine that they put too much money into a commercial, it’s childish. Especially when we live in a world where companies pay millions of dollars for Super Bowl TV Spots and nobody seems to bat an eye. The only reason we’re seeing whining here is because there’s an intersection of old geezer whining / “back in my day”, the state of the game not being particularly great at this point in the expansion, and news about Bobby Kotick continuing to be a goblin making the rounds. People are in the mood to be upset right now and this ticks enough boxes to make it a “valid target” for hate.

Again, 20,000 dollars is not a lot of money for an advertising venture. It really, really isn’t.

I like this new angle on competitive M+ dungeon runs!
But I don’t like this e-sports push on WoW while there is no content in the game.
Switch the priority next time ok???

No man I definitely don’t agree. Creating these tournaments is not the way to stem the bleeding.

People aren’t going to be “golly gee that Boomkin + Fire Mage” comps are soo good I’m gonna resub again.

There are 12 classes in this game. Not everyone is a meta class.

You just seem to be happy enough to place the blame on people when you say “People are in the mood to be upset right now”.

No they aren’t. This expansion had the potential to be really good and they completely screwed up by delaying the first content patch. It’s all on them.

Are you kidding. the company ignored all the advice on the PTR and all the important feed back not only here but in BFA. If you haven’t noticed the company is catering to PvP and Mythics the rest of us are left on the side line shivering in the cold.

I understand what he means by marketing but when you market crap like 100 teams running the same comp and expect people to go “oooh shiny” that’s very bad marketing.

Balance and then advertise. Not advertise and wait to balance.

Rules say timed.

Ahahaha, I admit this gave me a good laugh. I still wanna zapzap Antorus, that cloth transmog from mythic Kingaroth eludes me to this day.

BOOO! Thanks for the info though

But I’d love to see over the top GRIND PUSHING!

Hopefully next year we will have THE EVEN GREATER PUSHHHHH!

Ok more resources spent on activities 99% of the player base won’t experience.

There’s still tons of bugs.

Content is already stale.

Are legion legacy raids fixed???

I’m slowly moving from the “SL is great” train to the “SL is lame” train.

Come to the Correct side we will not disapoint you like the company has. I am going to love it when the price hikes go into effect and we see how many quit. I honestly now believe 100% they want to close the game forever cause they just don’t care.

I want to believe I am wrong but I doubt it. and I am slowly starting to think FF might be a better choice.

It hit me like a brick a few weeks ago.

That may be true, but it is what it is. The current situation is the current situation.

Blizzard has money and finds themselves in a bad place. This is simply the reality of the state of the game currently. The milk has been spilled. They can do nothing and watch the situation continue to go bad, or they can spend some of that money trying to hype the game to lessen the flow of players out of the game and/or draw in newer players to compensate somewhat.

You can argue until the cows come home they should have done more to prevent themselves from getting into the mess they find themselves in, but it isn’t really relevant to the decision-making process of Blizzard currently and why it is completely sensible to move forward with an event like this.

My point is simply that whining specifically about this event is completely misplaced. If you want to whine about game balance or the content drought, go for it, but it’s 3head to whine about again what is a glorified TV commercial as if somehow if they decided to cancel this event that you’d magically get a pony out of it. It’d just be less WoW-related stuff and more money going into Bobby Kotick’s pocket.

It’s one off for now but it’ll “back by popular demand”.

Least of all, one off when 9.1 is god only knows how far away.

I was actually looking through the Internet Archives site at the old Tucows downloadable games. New content is welcomed these days.

If it is popular enough and resonates with the fans… what exactly is the problem? I get the sense that some people legitimately hate other people enjoying something, because they’re unhappy and think others don’t deserve to enjoy something. It’s absolutely absurd. How is it not a good thing if it happens to be a popular and Blizzard decides to run with it?
