We want RDF

Instead of adding 25man badges to 10mans they could have also left the badge system and made heroic dailies player specific instead of server specific and this would have helped tremendously. But instead we got the classic community shouting how they wanted 10mans to be as relevant as 25mans, like in cata, and now we somehow got 25man badges in 10mans. This meant people did heroic dailies less often and got extremely inflated 25man badge counts.

RDF isn’t the only system that is being mishandled here, but it’s the topic at hand.

We already agreed that with RDF dungeon participation would DRASTICALLY increase across all levels, which is the whole point of rdf.

Taking your bias and opinions out of the debate you have already agreed to this, this is literally all that matters.

Dungeons should be part of the experience at all levels and RDF encourages that.

It’s no different than how JJ increased the amount of people leveling.

Say what you want about this imaginary social aspect of dungeons you cling to, RDF is simply a tool to get dungeon participation up, and that’s exactly what it does period.

The daily heroic implementation you are refering to is currently a quest in game for a daily heroic dungeon. It exists in wotlkc now. When rdf was added it got moved into rdf. So its in game now. As for unneeded time spent. Social connections essentially remove the time it takes to make a group, especially if you preplan it.

LoL look at this 1337 player, he schedules his 5 mans.

Kind of admitting there isn’t much interest in spontaneous 5 mans if even your massive social network can’t form one spur of the moment and you have to take days to form one.

I can say this, dungeons are absolutely not worth doing without rdf for leveling content… Truth be told, I’m not sure they’re worth doing even with rdf. Power questing with looms and jj right now is 40min levels until Outland… Dungeons where like 10%a level in og vanilla. Even at a quadrupled relative value (things like reducing xp needed for levels happened past vanilla, for example), and getting the instant port to the dungeon, it might still not be worth giving up the juicy quest bonus xp

Believe it or not, RDF also had a daily heroic implementation. The RDF version was better in that it applied to the first dungeon you run in a day, essentially making it identical to the wotlkc implementation except every person got a random daily heroic.

I don’t want to have to bribe my guildies to come do 5mans. Normal COS having bis game trinkets should already be enough to push everyone helping their guildies farm them into being pro-rdf.

You all should reroll and make a guild together. That would be fun to watch.

At the cost of social interactions, content consumption rate, and more.

It does a great job of making doing dungeons a lot easier, but it doesnt come at a cost. The difference is you think the cost is little to nothing compared to what is gained. I disagree on that especially if all the bonus rewards stay in rdf. I am willing to compromise as i have saud many times these last few months. Remove all bonus rewards from rdf, which make it truely optional at that point. And i will support rdf as a tool that only groups you with others. Even better if it tries to prioritize same realm groups. I realize that not everyone plays the game like i do. I have been willing to compromise from the basically start of this conversation. Have you?

Im giving you ways to make the time spent fi ding a group easiet and less time consuming. Im not saying you have to do it or that i do it all the time. If i know its going to be off hours i usually try to preschedual a group. Makes it a lot easier to form a group but it isnt necessary.

I preplan when i know there will be low interest, like if i plan on playing at 12am i will post a few hours to maybe a day in advance (definitely not days). Preplanning is useful if you know its a low activity time. But its not needed.

Scheduling a group is more timing consuming than using RDF.

They removed the daily heroic quest and put that into rdf. Im well away of how rdf worked in 3.3.

I don’t see this as the case. I did 15 VH hc’s over the last 15 days to farm the tank trinket, out of all 15 of those dungeons only a single one had any communication beyond “vh hc?”, “yeah”. The only time there was more communication was when a ret pally in full tank gear joined and a caster dps said “Please put it on ML for last boss so this person doesn’t ninja the mark of the war prisoner”.

Why are people clinging to this as some amazing social interaction that we all need? If you personally have more social interaction than this, then you would also have more social interaction in RDF 5mans than me and that’s fine too.

As for compromising, I think the RDF community is completely willing to compromise. 1-79 content being x-realm and heroics being realm-only are completely fine compromises. Remove RDF rewards except the daily heroic and make it auto complete the daily heroic quest in dal so you get to choose 1 or the other is another very solid compromise.

Spamming the LFG channel is the height of social interaction.

Not for a dps solo queuing. But it really only takes maybe a minute to preplan due to copy pasting a message into a few discord channels.

Which is still more time consuming and of course locks you into a specific time and cannot be done on demand.

That it requires preplanning already makes it inferior to RDF.

And also a 3 year history of creating the community to allow you to quickly form groups. Keep in mind no newer players have access to anything like this.

Heres the thing in the endgame, RDF is already optional and has been since Wrath, go see retail if you still think RDF is mandatory.

Speak for yourself dungeon fairy, I haven’t needed a heroic since week 1.

That’s all opinions.

The only fact is rdf increases dungeon participation.

I said leave opinions out.
