theres a new toy in shadowlands that lets most races turn into a child version of themselves
this is what void elves turn into and probably actually look like. theyre literally void creatures stuffed into an elf skin
i think this might be why

It’d really be the way to go.
The EU forums had a post with a great addition to the UI that treated the allied races as subraces, click dwarf, then choose what kind of dwarf.
Choosing what kind would bring up the class options and such and show the racials, I think one mock up even allowed a little mix and match of racials.
I’d have no problem with a little visual option bleed over either. Hairstyles shouldn’t really be locked to races as it’s just hair.
Things like the glowing tentacles to further differ are great. Things like that for other races would be great.
Just go back and do proper separate allied/subraces and allow people a free subrace change or better yet, just add it to the barbershop.
Paid race changes would change the race, but barbershop could be used to change the subrace.
Wildhammer were done dirty as were the trolls and high elves. They should have all been their own things. Then make it a regular thing to add new ones as there’s so many that people want playable, new races and subraces both.
No reason it can’t be that way, plenty of opportunity to work it into the story with the way things have been going.
I would rather keep established hard lore not retconned rather then change it because ppl wants to. Keeps coherently.
Feel free to rp as one as a warrior in pally gear though.
Tradition is always a bad reason when it comes to not doing something or continuing to do something.
New options and story would be great.
This is not always true. Many people does not like change for the sake of change, and bad examples of bad change can be seen in this game, excessive borrowed power grinds is one if them. Many views VE getting natural options as another example. You also need to keep in mind of the insane amount if work to even get your “void paladin” to work.in the game, with the legion paladin order hall being one major example.
High elves were never paladins.
I often dislike change but when it comes to the game and having new customization and story options, I often advocate it, especially when there’s really no drawbacks.
Borrowed power does suck, I’d much rather have something very lasting like customization or a new class (still salty about no necromancer in an expansion full of them).
The natural options should have been a high elf allied race.
Void elves need more void options, the natural body colors with the void colored extremities would have been a good option, could have had varying shades of the corruption, kinda makes me think of frostbite…void bite!
The order halls, meh. It’s in it’s own timeline now, who cares. Just skip it if someone doesn’t like it. Plenty of other instances in past content where things no longer make sense. Can’t let that holdback anything new being added.
Argent tournament says otherwise.
Where are they then? I don’t see them at the grounds.
Need to look harder then.
OK. I guess they don’t exist. Thanks.
But there is a major drawback.
You’d have to change all of the class lore, it’d have to be retconned all the way back to the OG WC roots. Can you imagine a uther that used void magic? I doubt it. If you do not understand, all the classes currently playable is a reflection of what they where in the WC rts games, so I will ask, was there a paladin in WC 2 or 3 that used void?
Pretty sure we got to where we are BECAUSE Blizzard listened to the player base when it came to LFR, LFD, M+, and a ton of other ‘improvements’ to the game. I am totally OK with them not listening to everything that we want.
Like I said, one side will throw a tantrum if the other side has something unique.
Nothing has to change. It’d just be expanded on going forward. They do that all the time, this whole expansion is an example of it.
They just write it in. They did it when tauren were allowed to be paladins.
There’s tons of stuff in the game now that did not exist in WC2 or 3, that’s no reason not to continue adding more things.
If it’s something you don’t like, then do as I do, don’t use it. I’m not going to go against players that do want something added that would make them happy and want to continue to play the game.
In the same way, that doesn’t make sense nightelves don’t have paladins since we do have one in legion.
But it would not be an expansion, the class is built on Light magic lore, to have them use void would be a degradation of the lore. Again, they would have to set a foundation longstanding that it was a thing since the creation of the class.
Because game mechanics O.o
There is no void spec for Paladins.
Are you trying to make a WoW’s version of an atom bomb?
Because velf paladins is how you get living bomb!
Thing is with NE’s, they are not a race baked in void, so yeah they could easily have paladins.
But it would not be an expansion
That’s exactly what it would be, new orders that use different powers to defend the world and others. New stuff added. Not changing anything that came before, but adding to it.
