I think this is the route it should go and eventually WILL go. Give Void Elves the option to be Paladins but lock customization of the Paladin class to the High Elf aesthetics. Or if we get a racial tag system for High Elves/Wildhammers and some others that can also work.
Probably the most unlikely scenario (although who knows nowadays) they could just give Void Elves an all around different name. A new name that can encompass both the standard High Elves of the Alliance AND the Void Elves together. Which would allow to add paladins without the issue of being tagged “Void Elf”
I’m also still annoyed about the Night Elf paladin thing. I don’t understand why they gave them screen time during Legion if ultimately they weren’t going to add them after. Makes no sense.
Actually the big problem was that early on Paladin for Alliance and Shaman for Horde didnt match up well in the pvp mix. Which made it easier to just give both factions both classes.
There should be no Void Elf paladins…IF they make actual High Elf a playable race then it should be available on that race, however until then, it makes no logic to cave to your fantasies. (This part not directed at Quenya)
I’d settle for a night warrior- elune juiced NE Paladin tyvm. It’s much more in line with Paladin than a void elf… VE Paladin is something I can’t wrap my head around.
Exactly. I would have rather seen a void-mancer class have been created vs. void elves. I just don’t like void elves much tbh, feels like a race that was created to try and fill a request without actually filling it. It’s proven that they were wrong by not just doing High elves up front.
Like I said elsewhere…a certain segment of alliance players have been squall-bagging about this since BC was released. Like an old old thread they just keep necroing it every so often.
To solve this issue, I think in the future whenever blizz decides to add more allied races, they should just add a high elf race to the alliance that looks completely different from all the others. I think all the elves should stay the way they are, that way each respectable race keeps their unique identity; void elves can look voider, blood elves can still be their own unique thing and have their BE aesthetic expanded on. And you can even be a high elf alliance paladin. Everybody wins.
I’m for it, obviously they shouldn’t exist in lore but I also believe that every class should be able to be every race. Let people play what they want.
In, Shadow’s Rising, a Void Elf and a Lightforged Draenei travel by Void Rift to Turalyon and Alleria. There are no negative consequences, although the Lightforged Draenei experienced some anxiety while traveling through the Void.
Paladins for void elves makes as much sense as shadow priest for light forged draenei, which is actually a thing, so just remember that all ye who have a strong opinion.
So, you’re saying that a Blood Elf paladin can’t turn into a void elf and still be a paladin?
If you play through the void elf scenario, Alleria Windrunner tells the player that she is able to control the void. “To make the shadows serve you, instead of you serving them”, that’s what she says.
The Void Elves are able to resist the powers of the void and control them. Yet the Void is able to use the Elves and we see this in the scenario where the void tried to destroy the sunwell. I do not see why a void elf isn’t able to request the aid of the Light, they’re not fully lost.
A void elf paladin would be a mighty struggle and a fantastic option for roleplaying. You’d be at constant odds with yourself. Your devotion to the Light sabotaged because of your existence where you can never fully be embraced by it.
