We need Void Elf paladins. Makes no sense not to have them

I’m not against it, but with short ear length options on Void Elves and Blood Elves, its one of those things where the visual assets are already available.

Pity, because they’d make a fantastic pairing with Mag’har. Rexxar is a fairly solid character. Arator needs development sadly. He’s been wasted.

Sol, I think you know the story better than I, your memory is better than mine, or both

In honesty, I don’t personally like the idea of a void elf paladin, and what that would mean “in universe”. So, I’m biased. A high elf paladin? Sure, why not. But that’s not mechanically what the WoW team has created in the void elf.

But, if it makes you all happy, I hope the WoW team finds a way to give it you, which doesn’t break the game’s story.

…Further, I mean.

I’m not infallible. I certainly didn’t remember cleansing the Void Remnant in the Emerald Dream in BFA. But, thank you for the compliment.

There is only -one- way a Void Elf Paladin, blue skin and hair and tentacles and all, would make sense, and even then it’d be… not opening a can of worms, so much as dumping the can of worms onto the table.

I feel just using short ears is not enough assets for half elves, and simply belittles them. They can be much more and stand as there own race along with being the rep for high elves indirectly.

We’ve seen two Half-Elves in game, and one dragon in Half-Elf form.

Arator uses the Thalassian model.
Alodi uses a human model.
Kalecgos uses a human model.

So, a proper Half-Elf would have to be somewhere between a human and a high elf in terms of model, which does not leave much room at all, since the two aren’t dissimilar as is. If anything modifying the Thalassian model to use a different stance and different animations, and bulking it out a little, would probably be the most elegant solution, but it’d still be the third use of the Thalassian model for a player character, and second time on the Alliance.

It can be changed easily if Blizzard makes it so.

Also, I’m in to what is fun rather than the lore. If the lore is keeping something that can potentially be fun for a lot of people I’m all for the lore changing.

Which is why I recommended they create a new skeleton to suit them

If they can create 2 separate skeletons for the same race (sw and kul tiran humans) surely they can for half elves. They deserve it anyways, and yes they can be in-between the 2 races in looks, but it also leaves room for appearances unique to them due to that lineage too.

You don’t need to convince me, I’m all for it. It’d even be a nice way to get Dalaran back into the Alliance, since the place you’d logically find most Half-Elves should be Dalaran, which has always had a significant population of High Elves and Humans. The Legerdemain Lounge’s owners look like a Human-High Elf couple, for example.

Being completely honest, the racials are unnecessary, the fantasy of being a race does not require a relevant mechanical effect, I think the racials should be reviewed and converted into a mere aesthetic/rolplay question.

Also, personally I have a very bad view of the conacion re “existing races” within the same faction, I do not like the lightdorged draenei, the black iron dwarves, the maghar orcs or the highmountain tauren, because they are simple copies of other races that are already in the same faction that carry the customizations that could be available to all of the race.

For all this, I don’t like the idea of a new half-elf race, I think they could perfectly be carried by the VE and BE with short ears, or give humans pointed ears and go on, mix too much fantasy and roleplay with Mechanics in a game so old and with a code as tangled as WoW is just looking for trouble for nothing; and the fewer new races, the more time to work on customizations for existing ones.

Why play a game that you apparently can’t modify your expectations to based on in game story?

The Devs have far more pressing issues that need addressed and they are wasting time on the cosmetics for a few people who will never be satisfied.

I’m sorry you can’t be a high elf paladin.

The solution is simple; let any race play any class.

I’d be a big fan of class swapping on a character, too. Have your character level up as a different class. Would be fun and interesting.

I’m for any race playing any class. Just open the flood gates. I don’t care. They broke lore enough that it doesn’t matter.

Is it wrong to ask for thing like VE Paladins? Also, it’s not that big of a deal. I’m still going to play regardless.

Void elf paladins make sense.

Makes no sense to not have “Void” paladins? Are we reading this correctly?

Seems pretty messed up to me that the faction known for Paladins, has the same amount of races who can be Paladin as the Horde, not counting ARs for the Alliance, that’s 3 “models” that can be paladin, Human, Dwarf, and Draenei, not a lot of uniqueness there, Vs. BE, Tauren and Zandalari.

Night elf Paladins should of been a thing from the end of Legion, and I’d settled for “Dark paladins” or “customization locked High elf Paladins” Void elves, just some variety for Alliance Paladins, when Horde has 6 unique models for their shamans, Orc, Troll (Regular and Zandalari), Tauren, Goblin and Pandaren, which is obviously fine, Horde is the Shaman faction.

That is because one side always puts of a stink if the other side gets something unique.

Ya even weirder that nightborne got facial hair before trolls. Never see a. Nightborne with facial hair in game but we have voljin just doing his thing

Yes, cause it cheapens both what PALADINS and Void Elves are… Paladins are by their class hall, abilites, etc zealots of the Light, Void Elves are the near exact opposite, they cannot go near Light or Light based things, it’s who and what they are.

Should we: retcon the big bang of WoW because some people want VE paladins? (WoW’s big bang was caused by clashes of the Light and Void), years worth of back log in paladin history and lore? Main characters’ back stories that revolve around Light/Void, etc? It’s not a “simple” fix as you propose, anyone who writes can tell you this…
