We need Void Elf paladins. Makes no sense not to have them

Sure as long as they don’t touch each other.

There’s no reason they can’t as long as Alleria isn’t in her void form.

There also seems to be the problem of some light folks not liking Alleria being all voided up, you don’t think Xera was alone in thinking that do you?

Perhaps, but Turalyon is likely to be the bigger problem before too long.

As far as gameplay is concerned, one could argue that when they added dwarf shaman, they included wildhammer customisations and I believe connected the two. Same with highborne and night elf mages, so one could argue the same with high elf paladins.

That being said

It’s still one heck of a stretch due to the fact that the very core of the race is heavily influenced by void, and seeing void elf paladins running around (not made to look like helfs, just straight up blue berries running around) would be weird.

But again, it’s lore versus gameplay. Just depends on how much blizzard wants to sacrifice one for the other, and let’s just say I’m not here because of ‘reliable’ lore :joy:

Because you’re still a void elf, not a high elf

You can be a High Elf Paladin.

But not for the Alliance.

I dunno where this idea came from that the void cannot heal, protect or sustain life. Void creates life. Twisted versions of it but living fleshy beings all the same. The disc priest cast heal is called SHADOWMEND. Void magic created the curse of flesh which is why most of the races we play aren’t made of metal or stone anymore. Void is not at all incompatible with life and in azeroth’s case, its corruption turned out to be a benefit, making the mind more flexible inspiring things like courage instead of just duty. Innovation instead of just programming.

priests is are more like mages, they channel there magic source externally.

Paladins weilds the light internally, having been embued by light at there ceremony.

A void elf is almost a 100% being, having most of his/her body fully transformed by the void. They can no longer even channel the light in lore (gameplay =/= lore)

The sunwell is part light magic.

The sun emits light.

Rezan is the loa of kings, and gave them access to the light. He used light magic himself as well.

Except the void has a extremely hard time doing the same things as the light and vice versa.

Not in WoW, please look up the cosmology chart.

This is not D&D.

Not at the cost of the story.

This is what druids is for.

They would be using the light of the moon.

Holy magic and void magic does not complement each other bruh.

do it, with a visual effect and without increasing your dps or whatever beyond 1 to 2%. The problem of the racials is that they have always been one of the causes of imbalance between factions, they also add an unnecessary complexity to the balance of classes; 36 spec/classes x 23 races x 4 covenants x 3 soul conduits, see what I’m going for? the time you waste trying to balance all of this is time you could spend on real content. :man_shrugging:

While i kinda agree some racials is a balance issue, racials is also pretty important to the personality of the race.

an orc that don’t go berserk is no orc.

A blood elf without arcane turrent sucking all the mana around him is no blood elf.

a tuaren with no stomping would be a light weight.

A dwarf without stoneskin would not be a WoW dwarf.

A void elf without going void is not a void elf.

those are a few examples.

Mag´har no go berserk :man_shrugging:

BE have no need to do this since the restoration of the sunwell :man_shrugging:
the void elf mysteriously forgot how to do this :man_shrugging:

no high mountain tauren do this, they charge :man_shrugging:

the dark iron do not have it :man_shrugging:

This is reflected in their tentacles and purple skin, they do not need a void form to show that they are associated with the void. :man_shrugging:

also keep in mind that:

  • go berserk = Rage (warrior ability)
  • sucking all the mana around him = warlock fantasy and a warlock spell
  • stomping = thunder clap, Shockwave and other similar warrior abilitys
  • stoneskin = Avatar (old version warrior ability)
  • going void = Shadow form, Surrender to Madness

All the “unique” things that according to you do to the races already have the classes.

Paladins have nothing to do with life… they follow the light and that’s it. Taurens get it threw there sun god, makes no sense unless the sun god serves the light. This is not dnd and I can most certainly guarantee elune has nothing to do with the light my friend… night elf Paladin again as a whole makes 0 sense.

Added in cata. I see. He’s a blood elf that went back to the High Elves. At least that’s what it looks like to me. Because blood elves/high elves weren’t paladins before they, blood elves, siphoned the light from a naaru.

They are baised on their ancestors and don’t need a blood haze since that version of their history didn’t had that. Although I do think they should.

Yet they as a people still seek power. Void elves gotten humbled by that error but now fights to keep control of their powers.

To reflect their originator, also they are still mostly bulls, a charge is a good replacement.

It is no longer shown through tentacles because ppl can opt out of it, as such EE’s importance is even higher now.

You say that now, and yet they did it. There is Night Elf Paladin and also apparently they added the lore that “paladins” were a thing for Night Elves.

Mother moon lol……

oh please, this is a weak argument and you know it.
priests literally become an angel on death! how is that not using the light internally?

source?

what have we not seen the void do that the light does?
