Also, who says that arena seasons have to be coupled to PvE releases? T5 was available during the first arena season in the original release, so why not release the PvE content and let the arena season run for a bit longer…
There is nothing “1%” about raids getting stomped in classic and TBC classic.
Pacing matters, notably when Arena seasons are in play.

I’m almost 99% certain when they laid out the Phase schedule back in BlizzCon that the pairing of Tier content and Arena seasons was conspicuously shown and pointed out with particularity.
I’m genuinely surprised this is news to you.
EDIT: Notably when people were openly musing as to the release schedule prior to TBCC’s release, people repeatedly asked or requested a staggered schedule, specifically with Arena in mind.

You’re not wrong. They’ve made mistake after mistake with BC, I can’t think of a single thing they’ve done right. If T5 isn’t out in next few weeks many guilds won’t make it. And most of those players won’t come back. Look at retail, Blizz assumed come 9.1 player would all return, spoiler alert, they didn’t. Classic won’t be any different

Then they modified it during Beta to move Arena up but otherwise keep the PvE schedule:

They moved Arena 1 up because people requested it like crazy and because it paired the ilvl more cleanly with the PvE content. The concern by Blizzard was that people would feel rushed trying to prep for Arena even if they staggered it, but realized later that wasn’t going to be a problem.
No need to be dramatic, you can just go quietly.

The part where they moved the seasons up from originally planned.
Originally we got:
- T4 only
- T5 and S1
- T6 and S2
- ZA and S3
- SWP and S4
Then they changed it to:
- T4 and S1
- T5 and S2
- T6 and S3
- ZA only
- SWP and S4
T4 was always separated from T5 and Arena Seasons were always staggered alongside Tier releases.

The Dark Portal will unlock on June 1st and everyone will be able to jump through who’s level 58 and get into Outland. A couple weeks later, our first arena season will start. So we’re super excited. The help on beta has been incredible. We wouldn’t we wouldn’t be this far ahead without all the support from the community.
