I really LIKE having a melee option. I wouldn’t say no to a 4th spec bringing back the old Survival feel though, now that MM has shifted away from it again.

It’s seen better days, I’ll tell you this. Horde doesn’t really have a good raiding environment, and the Alliance isn’t that much better. I hate to say this, but Skywall died back in the late days of MoP and it never recovered.

times that MSV can stay we are looking for a way to bring back RSV. Likewise, “YOUR” spec came with a cost of loosing a play-style that many players loved as well, so do not try to play victim.

Just unlikely that Blizzard would remove a spec after 12 years to replace it with an idea that was a jest idea since Vanilla.
Also as I saw from your post Bepples posted, and you a few others tried to tear them apart for expressing their views. So, again you try to play this poor victim angle of every one picking on poor ol’ MSV hunters.
Think what this is really about is you’re hoping hunters will just forget about RSV, cause deep down your worried that if MSV fails to catch on after BFA Blizzard will just scratch it and bring back RSV.

Lmao except MSV is here now and had roots in Vanilla. So it was always more likely than adding a fourth spec.
Boopples view is, “remove MSV and bring RSV back”. So yeah, I call her out for being a spazz, big surprise.
What this is really about is me really appreciating an awesome spec, and posting about it. Hopefully some of the spoiled people, who can’t adapt, and are stuck on an extinct spec, will wake up and appreciate MSV for what it is.

I would recommend that you post about that in your own thread called “BfA survival is awesome!”
I can guarantee you that, continuously posting about how much you love current MSV, while in every other post at the same time add in lines such as this:
I can guarantee you that replies such as that, in a topic titled “We need range Survival Hunters back”, will not do you any good. Quite the opposite.
Posts such as these, will only make us want the old SV spec back even more.
There are many reasons as to why people dislike current MSV. It’s strange yes, a spec that isn’t perfect for everyone…
But even though some dislike current MSV just because we lost our RSV in the process, many dislike MSV simply because it does not provide a playstyle that we like. Melee-combat being one example.
But again, like I’ve said before. Demanding that a current spec/playstyle should be removed in favor of a new one, or actually removing one(hint @devs), is never the right decision.
Or, I should say, it can be. But that would require it to be a case of noone actually liking that particular spec/playstyle. But this was NOT the case with RSV.

There’s a really easy solution for you guys. Don’t click on my posts, it’s that simple.
Whole point being , we want positive pve changes to revive a ranged survival/ranger spec. If it is an allocation of resources for blizzard problem, maybe we do need to scrap the msrv spec. Fix ranged survival, increase Mark’s mobility and cc, work in some melee abilities with beast mastery.
I don’t see any variations of the spec that wouldn’t benefit greatly from it honestly
If that’s the price then we don’t need to revive the RSV/Ranger Spec. MSV is more of the Ranger Spec than all other previous ones put together. Rangers are and always have been both Melee and Ranged, not one or the other, no matter how much mental gymnastics one wants to try.
And at that point, BM will be the Ranger Spec.
What most unhealthy is believing that you are the voice for MSV when you have done nothing, but played pvp. What about all the others who just want to do world content, or raid in top spots? How can you represent a area of MSV that you have no experience with?
Think you need to sit down and let some of those that have actually played MSV take a stand.

Made that little spill to see who would freak out. Not even trolling but honestly curious.
The identity of hunters has changed so drastically that most,new hunters, don’t know why people rolled the spec in the first place.
Everything since the beginning to now, has been a utility, dmg, can do everything,class.
A Ranger spec, is essentially ranged survival, mixed with Sylvanis and pets, in every MMORPG.
The only way you grab the melee wielding version of this is the Warcraft rexxar (who was survival dual wielding some handed axes) or the other version is if you grab into the forgotten realms series of books. Which blizzard has actively avoided. With them even grabbing the names and specific… abilities of those characters and locking them away from us. So there is grounds to remove it completely and revamp again or just remove because no one knows what they want from the spec
At this impass I’ll propose something.
I won’t advocate to remove melee as long as you don’t advocate, away, from an old school ranged spec with dots(which we had and was very popular/only reason many many many people made hunters)
I don’t know about every MMORPG, all of the ones I look at have options to go melee. GW2 for instance. A lot of Table Top has it as well. The basis for the entire Class in the Genre carried both, but used a longsword the bulk of the time.
Aragorn, Son of Arathorn, in the LotR is what got the Ranger thing rolling along. There is more, but I figured that a character in some Block Buster Movies should be enough.
You do know that there is a lot of things that they have not avoided. Anduin’s a River in Middle Earth, the Old Gods comes from Lovecraft’s works?
I was all for bringing back RSV, but there are a lot of RSV proponents who have turned me off of it, your are one of the lesser ones.
