I DCd in a cave and was sure I was dead. Logged back in and theyve actually got it set to TP you to the GY on a disconnected so I managed to live. It also must have bounced me awfully fast to not have even been low life when I relogged 20 secs later.
I think theyve done the best they can to ensure its as fair as possible
I feel ya. Lived in a rural area with bad ISP for years. It kept me from being able to wfh before all the cool kids were doing it.
It stings to lose a character that way.
Give it time and perhaps you may want to give it a go once again. I do empathize with your frustration but any appeals system would be much too unwieldy for Blizzard to efficiently handle.
I actually agree with you on this Garmuck. The HC community needs appeals. Something like a cheat death mechanic from Diablo IV or a log out macro like POE.
Let’s just make a server called “Garmuck” that has Hardcore, WoW Tokens, 2.5x XP rates, death appeals, and a mandated SSF ruleset that somehow allows for end-game raiding content.
Literally sounds like a dime-a-dozen trash private server.
As one of the founding Hardcore Elite members in the HC Elite guild and one of the people most likely responsible for Hardcore even happening at all, I’m surprised they didn’t include an NPC with my name to hand out friendly advice and tips.
No it’s too boring. If I have to play carefully the whole time for 100+ hrs it’s just not fun.
And even then I can still die for zero fault of my own from a DC or a random elemental spawn on me from an AQ event mob (yes this happened to someone on the official HC server).
I was mostly joking, because ya know, it’s Garmuck. DCs will happen. I don’t think that we need an appeal system, because I know it will be abused. How many people will just unplug their Ethernet, or turn off their wi-fi when they are about to die and cry foul?
Don’t be sad when your toon passes on. Cherish the moments you had and appreciate the fact you took the game seriously for once. Learn off your prior mistakes, pick yourself up, and go again!
