Yeah with concentration instead of insights, now, don’t even need it.
TWW is way faster and cheaper than Dragonflight.

I"m starting to have extra acuity as well but use it to recraft my profession tools that aren’t 5T. And many of my gatherers don’t have the blue tools. Also to hunt down those sort of useless recipes like the Coreforged skeleton key in Faerin’s Advance that i didnt want to waste acuity on earlier in the game.
And side topic those special profession bags are a joke. Does anyone use them?
My profession bag is my warband bank. No profession bags anywhere else.
Better catchup, better professions.
Not here. Couldn’t believe how silly they were when I saw them.
I did use them until warband bank was added. Once that came about, I just use two tabs for all my mats across my “band” and replaced the professional bags.
The ones that came about this expac have special “abilities” on them for each profession. The special abilties are mostly terrible. Like for example one bag has 'save 1% concentrate." Gee thanks.
The alchemy special bag gives you a small chance to 'discover" more recipes. I’ve already discoverd all of them, so useless.
oh no, the number was three instead of four whatever will I do? it could be two of each type. It still doesn’t change the fact that it’s pretty friggin convoluted… and you have every right now to take me seriously I actually don’t care. The question was asked. I offered an opinion and then people seem to wanna fight about an opinion. I hate professions. They suck these days. Blizzard has done a horrible job with professions. Look at all these opinions.
I mean.
To be fair.
When someone offers an opinion and gets a large part of it factually wrong. Its worth noting, no?
I’m less interested in pedantic feedback and more interested in sharing my frustrations. But sure. If we want to get SUPER technical.
I need more than ONE level of materials to craft items, and a special material or two to craft higher items. Compared to how it USED to be, this is convoluted.
In Wrath, for a mount:
Titansteel Bar (12), Handful of Cobalt Bolts (40), Arctic Fur (2), Salvaged Iron Golem Parts, Goblin-machined Piston (8), Elementium-plated Exhaust Pipe
Total cost: 15k gold
In TWW, for a mount:
Total cost: 4.5M gold
To get the Wrath Schematic: Purchase from a Rep vendor. Rep you got while questing anyway.
To get the TWW Schematic: Engineers need to utilize the Pilfering and Inventing system in The War Within. This involves Pile of Rusted Scrap through Pilfer Through Parts. Once an engineer has 25 Pile of Rusted Scrap, they can Invent a new Prototype every 24 hours. These prototypes can then be disassembled for a handful of Hastily Scrawled Notes. Depending on your specializations, you may even earn Hastily Scrawled Notes from Inventing!
Once an Engineer has 15 Hastily Scrawled Notes, they can combine them into one Comprehensibly Organized Ideas. When used, Comprehensibly Organized Ideas will allow you to pick 1 of 3 random available recipes determined by your current specializations. If you are lucky, you will have the option to choose the Crowd Pummeler 2-30.
So. Tell me again how the new system is not convoluted.
Look man. You can be frustrated with it. Thats your right.
But when nearly everything you listed previously was factually wrong, it puts some light on why someone may be frustrated with something.
Thank you. I am.
Some professions are just useless and they’ve never been able to be balanced to be effective anyway. Blacksmithing comes to mind.
I still haven’t seen something profession wise which made it worthwhile sinking money or time into since 2005 when I started. Alchemy and enchanting to me are the only (or were) professions which had viability beyond the early stage of any expansion. Having not played for a while I doubt that statement is accurate, but either way, professions in the here and now are a bit useless from what I’ve seen.
Do any of them let you make cool transmogs to sell etc? Or make anything to make those awful pet battle things any less banal, like gear for your battle pets
I feel like we shouldn’t even need to catch up in the first place. Just let me level my profession and be done with it.
I enjoy professions now. And leveling them isn’t difficult at all honestly.
I’m not sure why all the complaints. They are all actually useful beyond the first raid patch now.
Remove profession levels entirely.
Profession progress should be gated by recipes and materials, not how much crafting you’ve done in the past.
Having expansion-specific profession tiers is a huge improvement. The fact that you can start straight in at the current expansion level is great, compared to when you had to level a profession through like five or six expansions to get it current.
Honestly, once you have a bunch of toons gold is your catch-up mechanic. You can buy mats and level the profession, and the new Patron crafting orders usually give you many attempts to earn profession points.
It hasn’t been like that for several expansions.
No.
The catch ups, especially for gathering are already overly generous. The board will give you quite a few 1 point knowledge catch up orders every week untill you are caught up. Gatherers can be caught up same day if they grind.
Anything that makes it easier to catch up, means markets crash faster. It’s why gathering this expansion hit the ground so hard, so fast. Bots can spin up their professions in less than 12 hours, instead of being permanently behind.
Blacksmithing is amazing this expansion if you’re plate. Especially if you’re a tank plate. Free repairs adds up VERY fast if you play much.
Alchemy gives a free flask every day.
