Buffing a flagged person auto flags you, and they gank you on their other account.
Rezzing flagged players, flagged you.
Having on a buff that does damage to attackers (Druid Thorns) and a guard hits you, flags you.
Many ways to get tricked into getting flagged.
EDIT: I remember getting flagged by the Hunter snake traps that didn’t didn’t distinguish the difference between flagged and unflagged players.
Thankfully, I was on a PvE Server, and that behavior was looked down upon harshly but still.

Except it literally isn’t.
All your friends want to be on a pvp server? Cool. they can do that.
You don’t want to be on a pvp server? Just as cool. You can do that too.
I’m not a fan of the, “but but but my friends…!”
My dude, my friends have a variety of hobbies I’m not interested in, I don’t have to do what my friends are doing.

No people in this situation play with their friends and avoid Wpvp and are miserable whenever it’s forced upon them.
And considering classic wow server imbalances this is the majority.
well that is exactly what they did with SoD pvp servers, not very hard to close a faction to a server once they start pulling away with population.
Never played SOD. And if I did, I would never have thought to play on a PVP server because of the imbalance they had in Retail. If they can do it then great. They never did it before and it made PVP servers worthless so War Mode was born.
War Mode on is a PvP server. You’re effectively in PvP server shards with War Mode on. It doesn’t matter that you can hearth and turn it off. Nobody knows you have it off unless they’re a creepy stalker with serious issues.
War Mode needs more PvP events and activities so there’s actual interest in doing world PvP again. PvP servers won’t help you in getting what you actually want (unless all you want to do is grief).

Typical wpvp thread. “Why aren’t enough people lining up for me to kill them? Blizz needs to provide me with more victims!”

Typical response of “I don’t like this so nobody else should have it” when you’re playing on a normal server currently

not everyone played on pvp servers to gank ffs, pvp servers were way superior to this warmode junk.

Sure thing! Can get you a pvp server and a 90% mono faction server at the same time! just like classic!
PvP servers were this warmode junk, except you don’t pay to come and go.
All these pretend roleplayers on these roleplaying servers who’ve never seen or experienced RP-WPvP.
Yeah, because if I am rping I don’t want someone to corpse camp for an hour. Shocker, that. Still an option though, called rping with war mode on.
So, like I said…
Corpse camping isn’t RP-WPvP. Move along.
Pretty strong denial of a very common PVP server occurrence, RP or not. We gonna do a no true Scotsman here?

when we had pvp servers we had mass pvpers congregated into the main cities, where you found pvpers looking to form groups to raid main capitals, groups looking to wpvp, groups looking to form bgs ect… pvp stuff, that was lost with warmode, you hear squat in warmode, it has killed the pvp communities, all the pvpers are diluted into 200 pve servers now, I had my best times on pvp servers and it was not ganking, I would love to join a dedicated pvp server again, I do not see how it could harm anyone , just don’t play it if you do not like it , i also believe blizz will consider this if it is asked enough.

Warmode didn’t kill PvP communities, people not wanting to do world pvp killed PvP communities. And Blizzard tried it, the servers were always lopsided, problematic, and required additional upkeep for the additional servers so they pulled the plug. They failed.

To be fair, my first RP server was Emerald Dream in Wrath. I did a lot of WPvP in Hellfire Peninsula and got Haala mounts later in Cata before they were handed out for free in WoD.
Even engaged in skirmishes against a certain band of Blood Elves in the FFA PvP regions in DF.
While my name may not have been as memorable as a certain Korkron in Wintergrasp, I was also there as High Executor in leading many grand victories.
During the iron horde campaign, I served as City defense in Stormwind as a change of pace and spent time alternating between cleaning an axe and bloodying it.
I also went about obtaining the favor of Malicia and the title of Skyscourge, I have a rather long collection of the pitiful wailing of the Dead, the manifested delusions of those who refuse to accept their own defeat long after it mattered.
I still remember every encounter rather vividly, such as when a pair decided to Ambush me from the skies, simply flying from one point to another I found myself falling in the Waking Shores, a look around and I saw the culprit circling around like a vulture waiting for me to land. So I landed, on top of one of the tall spires in the area and they wasted no time trying to kill me. I tried avoiding them but they insisted on pulling me back near one of the edges which was their second mistake of the evening because all it took was one big push and they fell to their death, at that point I realized they had a friend, a much weaker Hunter who was dispatched in just a few seconds before returning to my planned journey before anyone could catch up or track me.
With all of that considered, I am fine with not going back to PVP always on because then you will be diluting the good fights and memorable battles with the tedium that comes with dealing with the cowards tactics.
