The title says it all. If you enjoy war mode, just play on a normal server. But I think it’s time pvp players get a server in modern wow.
It won’t happen. If you peruse the forums you will find that only FOUR people willingly rolled on the old PvP servers. The rest of the other two million players only joined a PvP server because they were friends with one of those 4 players.
And, of course, the ONLY thing that ever happened on PvP servers was higher lvl toons killing lower level toons. Nothing else ever happened at all. I know all this for a fact because I read it on the forums.
99.98% of players were FORCED to roll on PvP servers. Blizzard offered them no other choice.
PvP servers were a thing. They were removed because they were a source of issues and additional work for Blizzard. War Mode provides all advantages of a PvP server except for ganking lowbies
Too late, I doubt they will ever add back in PvP servers.
I will always be pro pvp server.
Literally not a problem for anyone who doesn’t want to participate.
The players screeching about how they were “fOrCeD!!” to play on a pvp server are embarrassing.
years ago I rolled on a pvp server.
after getting to MoP without being ganked I started feeling bad and unappreciated.
4 people? I’ve seen forums of hundreds of people pro pvp server.
And that’s just people in the forums alone.
Also, the most populated classic servers are pvp servers. You don’t think some of those players would roll on it?
Sounds like you are exaggerating because you don’t like the idea
I took what he said as intense sarcasm because it’s insane and literally what the anti pvp server crowd sounds like lol
Warmode is a big pvp server.
War mode is a glorified pve server
No, War Mode functions as a PvP server in every respect except having to pay to transfer off.
If players wanted to play Wpvp, they would already. The only types that like Wpvp are the Killer archetype.
Maybe if PvP were fair, you would see more players, but as it stands? If you were to put WoW PvP into its own game in put it on steam, halo infinite would beat its numbers.
It’s funny to see all these comments about “oh no pvp server bad” when they wouldn’t even play on them anyways.
I can tell you why so many people are turned off of PvP.
Chances are, a new players first experience with WoW PvP will be during leveling. And what happens in Qued PvP in the leveling brackets? Twinks running around one shotting people.
My first experience with Wpvp was trying to quest when an Alliance guy somehow forced me to turn on pvp somehow, (this was during Cata). He corpse camped me for 30 minutes before I signed out for the night.
That is why you PvPers see high Q times and low Wpvp numbers; you guys literally ran off the new players who might have enjoyed pvp had they not been farmed as their first experience of it.
It’s fine if pvp servers aren’t your thing.
Don’t join one. It’s not a big deal really, to let some people who don’t care about dying in the open world have some fun and play on a server with like minded people.
If you read the title, the ask is to let normal servers keep war mode, but create a pvp server for players who want that type
There is no difference.
With the exception of a larger pool of players and opt-in/opt-out.
A pvp server means less world PvP.
You can already do that with Warmode, literally. All servers are PvP servers because Warmode is a thing. The end result is still the same: Low population numbers because the vast majority do not like pvp in any form.
They got rid of PvP and pve realms for that reason, my guy. You will still see low Q times for instanced PvP and very few people in the overworld because the PvP playerbase is not large enough to support nor warrant the costs of pure pvp servers.
If the playerbase was larger, they naturally would make pvp only servers. But the interest for it is not there. Its like what, a few thousand of pvpers?
If WoW PvP was split off from WoW and put on steam, how many concurrent players do you think it would have?
PvP servers mean they need more attention and maintenance for the separate server types, and they were a source of issues. They are something that was tried and failed once already, not a new concept that would add to the game.
This just proves a point of people not wanting it because they disagree with it. Even if it doesn’t make a difference in anyone else’s play style. There are still players out there who want this, I’m positive
If WoW PvP was split off and put on steam, what would be its concurrent player count? Guesstimate for me.
