We don't even need RDF lol honestly

Except ppl have been doing dungeons without it for all of Classic just fine. This is a made up fear for Wrath, which has easier dungeons than either Classic or BC.

Here are the following reasons that it is a hot topic…

Gatekeeping is one of the reasons, I can tell you from personal experience that when I leveled a rogue during the launch of Classic, All I would see is groups during that time wanting spell cleave (which is mages and or locks) so trying to find myself say a scarlet monastery run as a rogue was difficult if I didn’t had friends online at the time. I have also heard stories of people getting removed from hellfire rampart and or blood furnace groups during the launch of TBC classic for not being Naxx geared even though MC/BWL gear is just as fine. Gatekeeping is probably going to happen at some point in Wrath classic for dungeons, even though they are so paper thin easy.

Dungeons before Wrath is going to have a difficult time forming and or finding one so in words Classic and TBC dungeons (after that initial DK wave) is going to take a awhile and LFD did remedy this however LFD is no longer in wrath classic, making dungeons in those expansions inaccessible. especially if you are on a small server.

People say that LFD ruined the social interaction in WoW when in reality, in both Classic era and TBC, the amount of dungeons I have did have rarely uttered words just like in retail dungeons. Social interaction comes from doing the content, spamming “Rogue LFG slave pens” or “LFM slave pens need all” is not social interaction.

I do understand the cons of LFD however the pros outweigh the cons.

I guarantee you it is the only thing most RDF enjoyers want. They would be fine with LFG if it teleported them.

Getting to the dungeon is arguably the easiest part when you factor in the time spent looking for a tank.

How does RDF get you a tank faster if there are none ?

Yeah, that’s what I was lead to believe as well.

This is just their excuse for wanting to protect gatekeeping dungeons. The more gatekeeping they can keep in the game, the better chances they have to cling to their false sense of superiority. Because in their mind’s eye, having enough free time to commit to the old school WoW is how they want player skill to be judged.

There will be plenty when literally every tank class gets easier to play with Wrath and everyone and their mother is running DK

Not to mention another issue is trying to run different dungeons besides the daily. It’ll be a lot easier to see more of the dungeons when they’re on random.

Because it’s a queue it guarantees you a tank eventually in the order you queued up, instead of it being an RNG fest to try to get a tank. And of course normalizes the wait time for dps across all realms.

There’s no reason to think DK’s will be tanking at any higher ratio than other classes with a tank spec.

Dual spec will definitely see some increase in the number of tanks but tanks will still be the bottle neck for forming groups.

Of course tanks will never be at a true surplus, but it’s a lot better when a class emerges where you could basically tank in a pinch without changing any gear

That’s not true. Players have been gatekept the last 2+ years classic has been out. Vanilla was terrible. Running any dungeon at level 60 was a minimum 10 minute flight, maybe even 20 if you were on the wrong continent. TBC, where travel time was negligible, gatekeeping got worse. Nobody really wanted to do dungeons with non-paladin tanks. Nobody wanted paladin healers. There were so many hunters that some people actually rerolled because they couldn’t get a group (and this even extended to raids during p1 and p2). Rogues were /laughed at, as were rets and feral dps.

Running dungeons so far has not been ‘fine’. Its quickly become something a lot of us loathe and barely rewarding for the time it takes to get a group, and actually clear the dungeon. Wrath made heroics fun and accessible. Now heroics will be less accessible and if they make changes to them, probably less fun.

Can’t wait to again ask for a dungeon invite, and get ignored or a response of ‘lol sh*t cat’ and put on ignore.

As someone who played a feral alt in tbc I feel your pain, had to just roll bear after awhile. Was quite satisfying actually but the rare times I was allowed to play cat it was very fun.

This should literally be the entire point of dungeons/heroics. It’s not hard content in the slightest, and it should be something you can just run at a whim. Treating it like a sacred event you need to savor at a snail’s pace is just off base.

Kitty dps gets a lot better in wrath so there’s that at least.

I’m really looking forward to it, gonna be tons of fun! Finally I say it’s been hell for 2 expansions to play.

Powershifting makes me want to punch real kittens… gotta love how ferals bis helm is a crafted level 40 blue because of some stupid gimmick…

Yeah, I don’t get it. Its like the handful of old geezers that want to stop and talk to everyone like they’re in the supermarket made this decision.

Imagine how bad our dps would’ve been without it though. Its viable with 4pc t6 to use tier helm or CVoS, but up to that point, we would’ve been at the bottom the entire expansion.

I Havnt looked into feral too much are they finally able to function without the hat? I honestly liked the power windows of power shifting but it was very scuffed I’d rather some sort of talent so I can wear a real helm

Yep, power shifting if effectively dead with the changes to energy regeneration. Tigers fury now has a 30 second CD and it gives energy instead of costing energy. Berserk reduces your energy costs by 50% while its up as well.

Though, with the ‘nerfed’ omen of clarity procs in wrath, ‘bear weaving’ looks like its going to be the new meta.
