Thank you to everyone who jumped on board when I wrote my long winded forum post on the case for a slight buff to ret paladins. And of course a HUGE shout out to Aggrend, who actually followed up on the ideas our community came up with, and who I’m sure was an advocate for looking into the state of ret.
I’ll be honest when the first blue response came out, I didn’t have much hope at all that we’d climb out of this hole where our dps is so low that we have become discriminated against by a large number of players. Moreso than any other class despite all the comments about how strong our “utility” is. Even as one of the top rets in phase one and outgearing most of my competition getting groups this phase has been a struggle.
This change is just right, giving us a small dps boost that doesn’t really affect the viability of any other class. Thanks again for taking a real, in-depth look at ret paladin performance vs utility, and listening to us here on the forums, as well as our class discords.
To those of you who are angry about this change, well you can just blame me. but at the end of the day maybe think about the fact that various discussions were had, and whatever point you think you have to make was discussed with the logical conclusion being that ret does deserve this small boost. The fact that we were initially told there would be no changes proves this. We didn’t get this buff by crying we got it by making a solid argument, and we’ve been vindicated now because the people who run the game agree with the points we made, based on the data they have, which is all of it.

LOL@op taking credit for this. You seriously think it wasnt changed because someone working at blizz plays ret pali? They dont give a crap what you want or whine about. Theres so many problems with the game constantly posted about that are completely ignored. Blatant bugs that are easily fixable. The UI of group finder not sorting heroics properly. RDF. Some employee with a friend in management got this changed for personal gain
I’m sure some one working at blizz plays death knight or warrior and both those classes got nerfed so there goes your little theory friend.
Tbh Ret sucking and you having RDF both differ from authenticity due to the patch timeline.
In an authentic recreation Ret wouldn’t be sucking. This comes down to personal bias on your part.
