"We agree Arfus was too rare, and will make rewards more accessible in the future."

To be honest I think this is the only sane response.

I do the same thing.

It is like they want the game to fail. Oh wait, too late…

But MeH MeTrIcS in my board meetings tho…

No it wasnt. You are right. Tried on 20 toons every day and I NEVER got the saddle drop. Only thing I actually wanted from the event. Would have preferred if they had put in a currency to farm off the HH then buy the saddle from a vendor instead. RNG is only fun for lucky people

It WOULD be, but the chance of getting the item isn’t increasing with every kill. After 350% the drop chance is still at 1%. Someone can get the item at the first try. Or after 350 trys. Or after 10 trys. There’s no rule when a drop can be expected, it’s just pure luck.

I can’t believe this topic keeps coming up.
Well actually I can given the “gimme gimme entitlement” mindset we have these days.

It’s okay to not get the cosmetic thing. You will be okay.

There are children better behaved than some of these regular forum users.

Keeping you waiting for things you kinda want since November 23, 2004

It’s not entitlement to expect something back after years and years of investing a lot of time.

threads like these are invariably filled up with people going all “hurr I got it first try whats the problem”.

Wrong.

This one is a confusing one but come with me.

1% drop chance per run isn’t 2% of 100% if you run it twice. Why?

because there is a 99% chance you won’t get it and that is every run too.

so if you run it twice it’s not 2% in a 100% pull it’s 2% in a 200% pull. And since the pull isn’t over 100% you’re back where you started at 1% of a 100%.

This is why RNG drops this bad really suck, you’re not really increasing your chance of the drop per run. What you’re doing is starting over hoping you get luckily for that 1%. And that 1% is out of your control and it also increases the chance of not getting it a lot more.

Math also SUCKS, which means that mathematically people who just get unluckily in numbers can easily run 500 times (or god forbid more) and never land in that 1% for the drop but other people can get a few a week without even trying.

A lot of people make this argument but my counter to it is that you have to endlessly farm M+ to even get specific gear so is it really that much better? Plus you can have alts that NEVER see those items drop and just have to pray they come from the vault–which is exactly what happens with raiding, is it not?
I really only agree that raid loot needs adjusting in that reducing the chance of tier dropping by anything other than 100% is a BS change that REEKS of “let’s keep people playing through our obvious content drought”

This is actually such a unneeded and awful mindset.

It’s not a ‘‘gimmie gimmie’’ entitlement mindset it is valueing your time and effort in a video game and wanting the new content that comes out in a event 1 time a year to be obtainable in that event.

We play this game for different reasons, I am 100% sure you’ve felt bad before at not getting a weapon loot drop or a BIS tricket before after weeks of not being luckly if you’ve done raiding or mythic plus.

people who are able to go online and say ‘‘hey was this really necessary to be this difficult to get only for some unlucky people’’ are not children.

the children on these forums are the people who want to belittle and talk down to folks for wanting a pet in a video game who put in the work for getting it. Add nothing meaningful to the discussion and just want to feel better about themselves.

Its been two days of christmass event and I got pepe toy. We will have to see if people are getting the rewards at a higher rate than before.

… which? brb wowhead

If you’re gearing up a character, raid just drops hilariously few items compared to M+ farming on the timescale of 1 week.

Not only are you restricted to only killing each boss once on a given difficulty, it drops half as many items per person as M+ does.

I see you’re just trying to argue, and don’t actually understand the statistics here.

You have a 1.9% chance of receiving a 1% drop after 2 pulls. Run it 100 times and you’re at about a 63% chance of receiving a 1% drop.

i got arfus and haven’t used him once yet and never will.

Again - we have till Jan 2nd or something like that - Just cause we don’t get it in day one doesn’t mean its flawed.

RNG is annoying for sure, especially since we don’t know if there is any short of bad luck protection. The drop rates and the protection are the things I wish they’d be more clear on

Thankfully my army of vulpera farmer’s have their camps set up at the greench, so hopefully I get it with little effort. Got the festive pepe whistle - now for the manuscript.
