what exactly should I say? Sorry? It’s not my fault you’re obsessed with an in game item that will show up until the end of the game’s lifespan.
Obsession is exactly what it is and it’s unhealthy.

nice. gotta get my activity going on here
This, honestly why punish a large part of the players that play multiple alts? Doing the same quest 20/30/60 times whatever amount for an item that is seasonal with limited attempts just feels awful.
It’s not really about crying about it or not getting items, its the anxiety of that taking a part of your gameplay and the burn out
I agree, I ran the holiday boss every day the event was up and no luck. Friends/guildies were getting it 2-3 days into the holiday and sad they couldn’t trade the pet.
Why wasn’t the pet at least tradable, or able to be up on the AH? At least then I could have bought it.
You think it’s obsession. for wanting a item in a video game, that is advertised in the game as the new item for a event, while the event is up?
you have to be a troll.
Want to see an obsession. Talk to some of the Ever Quest people that would spend days camping a BiS drop. And all of the content was contested not like how much easier it is to obtain today (providing RNG). Seriously think a lot of today’s gamers would lose their if that was the only way to obtain things.
Let’s start with putting that AH mount back on the vendor for people who didn’t have time to spend 9 months farming gold 5 days/week.
Advice I should have taken.
A insufferable person that argues to argue, claims they don’t care about the item but has no issue talking about how people don’t ‘‘deserve’’ it for hours while pulling reasons out of thin air to fit that point once insulting them for even wanting it didn’t work.
They tried to talk down to us and say that if we wanted this item at all we’re not emotionally mature…
Walk one block to the Auction House or spend 5 million to ride an oversized dinosaur with the AH attached. I think I would walk the block. That would be 3 years my income I have made in the game for pixels that help me just use a system of the game I rarely use. I use or vendor pretty much everything I find because most of it is materials for crafting or soul bound.
RNG has been a staple of WoW since early friends and family BETA, it is not going to change.
Actually not true as it already has been changed and will keep being changed.
RNG in the entire game isn’t the issue. 1% droprates for holidays that are supposed to be fun and end up being an annoyance due to that type of crap RNG are the issue.
In both statements lies truth. It’s questionable to farm for a game, which does not a) respect your game time and b) focus heavily on grinds and c) makes the items disappear easily or often while the EULA clearly states that the brought up effort does not belong to the player but Blizzard alone, they have the absolute claiming rights on everything you do.
On the other sides it’s a game to kill time and Blizzard knows how to bring out the mass to do something, while the shown effort has been lurkwarm or below industry standards (FF14), with a bad catch up system and lacking quality of life changes. Even the trading post is a questionable system, because how much focus is put on scarcity, either you get something only 2-3 times a year or there is not enough currency if want multiple things, unless you save up.
We need a lot of QOL changes.
I see your point on some of this but a bit confused on it as a whole.
I agree on trading post items, but the thing is with the trading post is you get 1k currency a month and YOU decide what you want ‘‘more’’ then other items. The trading post also is up all year long, changes monthly with unknown items coming back from past months.
This system has it’s issues but it’s not comparable to this item to me. A event item you can spend hours farming far, limited time only to get locked out due to nothing in the world other then ‘‘bad rng’’ shouldn’t even exist at all.
We do have stuff like this, like the headless horseman mount, but truthfully I don’t think that should exist in this format either.
These events in wow are severely not thought out, this is the first rng item we’ve gotten for a halloween event in over 10 years.
For a game we pay 15$ on top of DLC’s to play this game just doesn’t do events right, and people are ‘‘used to it’’ and don’t care about them being updated for the better is what holds us back.
There is nothing more dumb to me then farming hours on end for a rng item to not get it, have the event end and then be told by someone who didn’t bother to farm at all that its not a big deal and no one should even care if they don’t get it. That’s PEAK self centered
If you need a drop for a quest that is at .03% drop rate, it is RNG if you get it. My example is referring to a quest at Tarren Mill.
Also, and this has been a problem for me since going gold, but maybe, just maybe, somethings should be ultra-rare.
Things that should be rare should not be locked behind limited time events.
I own TONS of rare items, I own mounts that people farm years for but you can farm for it at any point in that year you want.
These items don’t make people special, or unique. It makes them feel better if they think it’s rare. If people want to feel special they need to go after elite pvp gear, mounts or new mythic content. Not a pet from a limited time event.
This is a complete different topic and while I agree that the mount should come back to the vendor… the people who had so much time to get the gold and didn’t do it in the end, just had a lot of excuses. “No time” was certainly one of those. I invested a few hours educating myself about more efficient gold-making, so did many many other players at that time, and I had the gold after about 3 months.
I had many arguments back then with players who complained that they would never get the mount and Blizzard just wanted to sell some tokens. And when asked what they were doing for gold, the answer usually was “I’m running 5 characters through old dungeons for hours” and they refused to do other stuff.
They figured out the best balance between RNG rewards and grinding with Time Rifts. You have a chance of skipping the grind with an RNG chance, but there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel that you will eventually finish.
And then they go back to their old ways by introducing some crap like this as a sorry excuse of a way to farm engagement. At least the other events have a queue attached to it. This is just a total waste of everyone’s time.
But Blizzard won’t care because the types of people mad about this sort of stuff already preordered and paid for a 1 year sub for the mounts.
You guys are all burned out from farming an RNG game for 20years.
It never dropped for 5 people I know of. It did drop for 1 person I know of. (All of which are pet collectors)
