There are TONS of areas in nearly ever part of the game where having WWing makes travel FASTER than without it…which is the POINT of the strider.

Its hardly elitist to think that you or anyone else here could have done the literally HOURS of work to get the water strider.
I dont care if you get the equipment. I was VERY clear about that.
What I care about is the mount I DID THE WORK FOR being screwed over so I have to PAY for WWing on 90% of my characters.

In the real world scams like this would be a felony conviction

last I checked World of Warcraft was NOT the 'real world"
But immoral, deceptive behavior by persons who have control of a situation isnt validated or made moral just because their fine print says “oh, and you agree we can take stuff you worked for at any time”

Agreements like that arent usually acceptable in REAL life…but clearly they are in this game…and some players who arent being affected are fine with the behavior.

The gear is mailed to 100 and over characters
90% of MINE are UNDER 100 and will have to BUY WWing that I ALREADY EARNED TWICE.

Items being blocked from players due to excessive skill requirements and various social barriers should be toned down a bitt for the average player to be able to at least see the content.

However items being blocked by simple tasks that are easy to do with the mere investment of a short amount of time should not be touched or “equalized” for the casual player. It’s all stuff they can complete at their own time table.

The water mount was easy to complete on a casual time table and should have never been “equalized”.

But in truth I think Blizzard just had a vendetta on all water walking because it speed up consumption of content.

And thats really all thats left for you to assert because the facts of the issue speak for themselves.
WE DID the WORK…and now that product we worked for has been altered so that we have to PAY for something we did the work for AS ADVERTISED AT THE TIME we did it.

You’re either misinformed or not a very good player. Again, there is no Azeroth zone where water-walking is a necessity. You have gotten so used to the crutch that the mere sight of a WoW body of water of any depth induces a Pavlovian MUST-MOUNT-STRIDER-NOW response. It was a mistake on Blizzard’s part to let this go on as long as it did, but it has to be done.

Cold turkey in ~32 hours. Get prepared.

I can’t say for sure if this is happening, I recall it being mentioned very early on in this whole process.

And don’t worry, Sky Golem fans - you’ll be next. Count on it.

Likely not, as that is a crafted and marketable item. Personally, i can’t even use it for flight, makes me nauseous.

Cool. Now you’ll still be able to use it as intended, just strap on some water walking shoes and you’re good to go.

How would you or everyone else like it if Blizzard decided to take all mage tower appearances away from every one, mail one set to the people that complete a challenge and put every other appearance on a vendor out side the tower.

In all seriousness though, it’s time you guys stop flipping out and raging over a video game. None of this is “work”. You guys act like we robbed your home.

That makes sense.
Ive read they tried to screw over the strider before and got a lot of backlash. And with the other spiteful crap they pull on a monthly basis in this game, it doesnt surprise me this would be the case.

Especially given that the sky golem was given exemption because of its abilities, while they chose to not do the same with the strider for those of us who did the work and shouldnt have that one mount we worked for altered for absolutely ZERO valid reason whatsover.

So it ONLY WWs and cant use equipment.
There is absolutely no way that affects anyone elses game who doesnt have it.

If you don’t have something and it’s given to you the idea is pretty cool. If you have spent a fair amount of time earning a reward and it is removed it kind sucks.
So I think it kinda sucks, but I’ll deal with it because what else is there to do? The only thing that makes me wonder are these points. Tanks don’t get dazed, is that going away at some point? Should tanks not get dazed by default and have water walking? Spells like levitate, path of frost and water walking, what about these in the future. What about the flower picking mount? What other quality of life things are going to take a hit in the future?
