I’d say that 3 dailies a day for 3 weeks is a little different than every quest in all three zones, 3 phases of war campaign, reveared with 6 factions, and uniting the races.
One’s a little harder than the other.
I understand your point, but you’re way off on your analogy.
It’s less to do with the mount, more to do with the dishonesty of how they’re dealing with it.
Hey all that heirloom gear you bought? Now it’s restricted to the faction you bought it on, because hey, we want you to spend more gold and buy more wow tokens.
You say the leveling experience is terrible, and that 15 years of content is too much to plow through to ‘catch up’ ? We hear you! We’ll remove portals to make it more awful and renumber levels to fool people into thinking it won’t take as long (but it will). All so you’ll buy more level boosts and race changes for the new allied races we’re gonna add that you gotta have.
We’ll put in rewards rather than quality content and over-priced vanity mounts to keep you grinding away at the same two world quests over and over… so that you’ll get fed up and buy wow tokens for the next nifty new in-game mount you gotta have.
One thing after another that milks us for cash instead of improving the game.
This mount equipment stuff is just more of that. It’s not an improvement it’s a gold drain to create demand for wow tokens.
At some point you just gotta say “This isn’t the game I used to love, and this is just one more piece of evidence.”
So yeah, not the striders themselves so much as what Blizzard’s bungling of this change continues to represent.
I was so hyped about being able to use any mount to walk on water given how this entire expansion (so far) has pretty much made it mandatory to have one. But I guess I didn’t realize that the water walking ability would be removed from Water Walkers. What’s the point of that? If I earned it as a water-walking mount why not just leave it as it and allow me to equip my other favorite mounts with water walking.
Sadly correct in all points, fellow forum crawler!
I fear me this is only the next step is Blizzard’s maniacal need to shove this once-epic game into a mobile platform. Flips hair, sips the afternoon tea and begins reading about Shadowbringers
The wife and I just bought the WoD package where you get the Dread Raven mount.
Im running around ValSharah on a character riding the Raven and its walking on water
yup. It was immersion breaking watching water striders walk on water (sarcasm off)… but now we have jesus brutosaurs, birds, flamesabers (fire…cat…walks on water… SCREW YOU PHYSICS!) and almost anything else in the collections tab.
