Water Strider

Sorry to tell you that it is Blizzards game. They made this decision to incorporate a new design for mounts. Anything you think you own or have worked for is theirs… unfortunately. It is not yours at all… not your mount, your toon… nothing.

Put your pitchforks away and try to understand that they can change anything in the game at any time according to what they decide.

If you truly feel you have been wronged in some sense then you should take a break from the game for awhile. You had your time with your water mount all this time so the work you did has been paid off. Consider it a rental period.

Just my 2 cents. Don’t get all mad at me for being real about the situation. Sorry but i’m not a weakling hivemind kind of person. I think my own thoughts.

You own nothing in the game and they have every right to make changes to the game they created. Those are facts… and you will see this go live in action very soon.

Once again… you actually lose nothing. You still have your waterwalking so like wth? Can’t you get that rep with timewalking? If so then getting the rep is a easy joke.

They did however make a mistake with creating the water strider in the first place, but are now rectifying that.

Pretty much says it all and if you can’t do that in a video game then you have bigger issues to address.

You are correct. They can – and they do – change anything they wish, whenever they wish. And it is their right to do so.

However, what one can do, and what one should do, are often two very different things. It’s not a question of rights, it’s a question of what is right.

Blizzard is angering/alienating a lot of players with how this change is being handled. Is that really what they want?

That’s what it comes down to. Blizzard wants so badly to control the exact pace at which everyone does content that they didn’t even want people crossing water slightly faster.

A long time. 15 mins if easy dailies every day for 3 weeks. So much work! >_>

I realize you’re just complaining to complain but you realize that you get an heirloom version of the water walking gear right? Like you have a benefit that the general populace does not have. You aren’t loosing anything, you’re just gaining the ability to use other mounts in watery areas.

I believe you are correct. This is also why I believe water walking, in all it’s various manifestations (mount equipment, potions, DK/Shaman spells, Hunter pets, etc.) will be gated in the future. It’s very likely that come 9.0, no one will be water walking.

The new system is a snare and an illusion, designed to appear like increased player choice, but it actually limits it.

yeah…you may be fine with working for something then having it stolen from you and RESOLD to you, but we arent and sorry but you arent required to read or respond to my posts on the matter.
So maybe you should just stop.

NOT the POINT…AGAIN.
YES we ARE LOSING something…the INHERENT WATER WALKING ABILITY on the water strider mount that was usable AT NO CHARGE FOR CHARACTERS UNDER LEVEL 100.
NOW we have to PAY to have that WWing on EVERY character under level 100.
90% of MINE are UNDER 100
Easy enough?

you may love your gold sinks…and you may be ok with having crap you worked for stolen from you, but WE ARENT.

yeah…so why didnt these posters do that little bit of work instead of cheering about the work WE did being made obsolete.

My guess is if they give us who DIDNT do pathfinder flight…then screw over a bunch of their favorite flying mounts, that these same players will be screaming from the rooftops about it.
And I personally would be laughing as hard as I do about their losing master loot.

Crafted mount equipment uses some of the existing crafted consumables, which are BFA zone specific, to create. The odds of 9.0 retaining mount equipment which requires farming mats in 8.0-8.3 content is slim considering said consumables are zone specific. Look for 9.0 to introduce Inflatable Void Touched Mount Shoes etc.

Thats right…and its OUR money and OUR game time that can be taken to another game.
some of you slay me with this ‘its their game’ crap. Blizzard isnt stupid enough to actually believe that nonsense. when you put a PRODUCT out into the public for sale and you want REVENUE…sorry but it STOPS being ‘yours’ the second you want other peoples money for it.

That ridiculous attitude has caused more than one bankruptcy.
Lets see if blizzard is actually dumber than I think and follows suit.
We already know they caved on removing flight before…so they DO understand that, no…it isnt ‘their game’ if they want ‘my money’.

Pathfinder PT.2 will unlock the vendor to buy the flight equipment… and all mounts will lose native flight abilities.

We’re now grounded in all content until we complete pathfinder 18 months into the next expansion.

Someone here seemed to indicate that the WWing equipment might be a vendor item, while the others were crafted. Any idea if that is accurate?
Id look it up myself, but every time I read anything about what blizzard is doing behind the scenes I get one inch closer to just playing ESO full time.

If you’re level 100+, and earned the mount, you can buy a UNIQUE BoA copy.
There’s also a crafted version that will cost quite a bit more.

yeah…ESO is sounding better and better as my full time game.
Funny. I keep coming back to this trash hoping they’ve seen the light, but every time I do they just prove again that this is ALL about investors and not a whit about the player base.
And they hysterical irony is seeing PLAYERS in here sucking down the koolaid and defending the BAD decisions that are making this game SUCK compared to a dozen others out there.

If everything works on Live as it did on PTR:

  1. If you are Exalted with the Anglers and own a Water Strider all your level 100+ characters will get a single, Unique Equip Mount Equipment.
  2. If you have alts under level 100 you will need to take your Angler’s Exalted character to MoP to the Angler’s Vendor to purchase the rep locked mount equipment. 1 piece at a time per alt with a round trip to a mailbox per alt since you can only hold 1 at a time. 40G per the PTR.
  3. If you aren’t Exalted with the Anglers you will need some level of rep to purchase the Angler’s version.
  4. If you don’t purchase the Angler’s version you will have to wait for the crafters on your server to get the pattern and gather the necessary mats to create them.
  5. If you ever change to “no daze”, “speed boost”, or “parachutes” you will need to repeat the process of purchasing more equipment.

Its not stolen though. The game can change in any way, at any time. YOU agreed to those terms. If you no longer agree with those terms you have another option.

…and I am free to reply to any comments, just like you.

No no no, they wanted this…now let the full effect of what they asked for sink in. Some people can’t learn thru words, reality must slap it’s message into them.

Go forth my specials, learn your lesson. Let the mistake sink in…under the water…on the mounts you put stun control on.

(Blizzard stole your sneakers removed the laces and gave you back your sneakers and are now selling you your laces back to you. - enjoy)

Same. I killed both my wow accounts yesterday due to their “vision”. Will not be returning to an inactivision/blizz product if changes aren’t made within my remaining days. They’ve shown they can’t be trusted, to put our interests anywhere on their priority list, in one game, so they can’t be trusted in anything.

I just hope that these mistakes don’t take the whole company down. Everyone shouldn’t lose their jobs due to following a blind mans vision…
