You’re ignorance is appalling. 95% of the time, what we see on the PTR, is what’s coming to the game. What they literally just talked about, is what’s coming to PTR and eventually the game.
You remind me of the same nitwits that told everyone not to worry about 7.3.5 PTR, or 8.0 PTR, or 8.0 being the fixed for classes getting fixed in and then to not worry that 8.1.5 will be the fix.
It will be 1000g per toon per account per each time you want to switch “gems”. You can have only one perk active for all your mounts at a time per toon. You can choose from water walking, anti-daze, or slowfall. You get to pick one. The one you pick will be applied to all of your mounts at the same time for one character. You do not get to have all 3 perks active at the same time (which is something you can do now). If you want to pick another one, then switch back to water walking, that is another 1000g.
and here I thought the PTR was for players to test this new content, see how it is supposed to work, provide feedback to the devs, and the devs would then go on to take that feed back into account when adjusting that content for when the patch goes live.
Silly me, this is obviously set in stone and I have just been blindsided this whole time.
It’s not like WoWhead reported on things that would get implemented into the game and then get changed over time.
Yeah, silly you to believe that the PTR is for players to test outside of raiding, when it’s actually just free advertisement. Of the past 3 years I’ve been playing WoW, Blizzard hardly makes an changes based off PTR feedback, that isn’t about raiding, and if the PTR forums for 8.0 were still up, you would see that.
Quit drinking the Blizzard koolaid and see that Blizzard does not give a dam already.
And yet here you are, giving feedback for an unreleased feature. Almost as if you expect the system to be adjusted to better fit in line with what you think works best.
I think it is Leatherworking that makes the barding for the daze effect. Blacksmithing makes the stirrups that allow you to interact with items & the shoes that increases your mount speed.
Don’t need to test something to know it’s garbage. Blizzard could’ve easily kept the Water Walking passive for the Strider but they decided not to, because we think we want it but don’t. Blizzard knows best, even if we can’t try it.
It’s already official that both water striders are having water walking removed and the equipment only works for the character who uses it, none of it is account wide.
I wonder if the people complaining about the changes on the basis that they worked hard for it so it shouldn’t be changed are also of the opinion that the gear we get this expansion should still be relevant two expansions from now at max level.
Exactly. Even when reforging was removed from the game, they replaced the reforger on the yak mount with a transmog vendor, instead. They didn’t just leave the mount with a useless vendor.
But you’re working hard for the gear, aren’t you? All that the time spent farming Azerite, etc. You’re putting way more time gearing yourself out than you did getting the water strider. Water strider took me exactly half an hour to get because I, like most people, got it by turning in timewalking badges that I had sitting in my bank for so long just from doing the weekly timewalking event.
When a mount is too unique that you are putting yourself at a disadvantage if you use anything else, it’s a problem. I have a lot of other mounts I’d love to use but they’re not practical, because the water strider despite being ugly as sin is far more useful, and will continue to be far more useful if nothing is done about it. And thankfully something is being done about it.
The water strider won’t be completely useless. It will still allow you to advertise yourself as somebody who loves disgustingly ugly mounts if you’re still using it post 8.2.
Irrelevant. Gear always changes, mounts don’t.
And None of my disappointment relates to the time I’ve spent. I’m an invalid and have all day to fool around earning what I want.
That’s a you problem. I have leveled 15 toons to 120 by questing in BfA, and rarely use my beautiful water striders.
There is very little water that needs crossing and is too deep to run across. Even in Nazmir it’s often quicker to jump between islands than to bother switching to a strider. I have a random mount button, and mostly use whatever comes up.
No, we are not of that opinion. This is an apple to oranges argument. Now if you had said, “are also of the opinion that the Cloak of Coordination should still be relevant two expansions from now”, the answer would be yes.
Are you dumb?
We are losing gold. A LOT of gold. “Cheap” can be 10-50k according to Blizzard.
And a lot of people are going to lose their TW tokens sunk-cost which they could’ve used for something else.
These water shoes better not be craftable because people need to use their TW tokens to earn the reps like everyone else did.
If the water shoes are only buyable at exalted…then sure, whatever.
No complain here.
Where are all of you people riding these water striders, that you never take a hit from a hostile mob? I can’t even cross a river without an irate crane taking a shot at me.
No, it’s not just a me problem that I want a choice in how I play. Or does choice only matter when your choices are respected, and not anyone else’s? I want a choice in what mount I use. I’m getting that choice. Isn’t this forum all about choice? Now people who want a choice in the mount they use when they explore the world will have one, and those that have some weird sentimental attachment to their water strider can still use it. Everyone wins, except you apparently, because you only care about choice when you get what you want and not anyone else.
