Water Strider Used Too Much?

Me too. I use him almost exclusively. I am accustomed to his sounds, springy, bouncy nature, and his little “hisses” as we skitter along long roads.
I just can’t imagine the “mean” nature of bliz simply wanting to break this bug, and I’m really disgusted by it.

The same can be said that Blizzard uses too much water in their land forming.

I actually do use my water strider on land. It is the main mount I have used since BFA. Why? Because Blizzard in their infinite wisdom decided to give us areas with a lot of water.

If Blizzard took the effects away, I would complain.
1.) I had to earn the stupid rep for it.
2.) I had to earn the gold for it.
3.) It took time, which I will never get back.

Now those are solid reason on why I would complain about it. What are your reasons to take the ability away?

It’s not being taken away, though. Every mount is just getting the ability to do it.

Really? So I can log on when 8.2 drops and my Water Strider will walk on water immediately?

After you put water boots on it which you’ll have unlocked since you grinded the mount already, something Blizzard did to appease wah wah strider players.

So thats a no. It is still taken away, doesnt matter if they put it back somewhere else, it was taken from where it was.

Shh, shh it’ll be okay.

Hey, im just debating with you, if you want to be childish about it thats on you.

There are more mature ways to say you dont have a rebuttal.

I’m sorry, but if you can read what I just quoted and honestly say It’s a mature response and not a straight up temper tantrum over something so insanely minuscule… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Do you get this upset when your fruit loops are put in a different cupboard?

Youre an interesting person, at least.

Rather than point out where you think im wrong youve done nothing but try and belittle me. Do at least try to stay on topic.

Here, ill help you.

Where was I wrong in what I said? They took something that was baked into the mount away, thats undeniable. The fact they put it behind a paywall somewhere else doesnt change the fact that the ability that was once part of the mount was removed from the mount.

They don’t have any rebuttal. “I don’t like how it looks” or “too many people use it” is the best they’ve got.

So now we’re going to start nerfing things for kicks because they’re popular?

Explains a lot actually…

The water strider controversy is proof that the forums will complain about literally anything.

If the strider could do water walking & something else, people would legitimately claim that it was OP and you were “forced” to obtain & use it.

There are all kinds of reasons this decision to break the bug is making people angry. There was a 5500+ thread about it, that bliz has now decided that automated AI is worthy of determining the thread should be flagged, although there were no bad arguments, ad hominin, or anything else of that nature within it to speak of.
Several other threads about various other unpopular decisions have disappeared as well.

The strider controversy is legitimate, and these forums exist for the precise reason, to discuss the game features we like, or don’t like.
I for one, am sick and tired of this company trying to sneak in their damage control, to show only the “nice” superfluous topics, and make the condemnation of their very unpopular decisions go away.
If you choose to dismiss the (seemingly) vast majority of players that think this is a rotten move, you’re entitled to that, but very many people are complaining about this for very good reasons. Not the least of which, is the fact that bliz is apparently going to pull out the “because we said so” card, and use their backhanded attempts to placate the player base, and do their level best to shut down the conversations so we can digest their decree, and learn to accept it.
Yes, people will complain about anything. But that doesn’t mean that all of them are without merit.
I’ve been playing this game for 14 years, and I can tell you with complete certainty, that they’ve pulled this garbage before, and they continue to pull dumb stunts like this. It’s cost them subscriptions.

I never liked water striders to begin with. Just another thing to take away the uniqueness that death knights and shaman had.

The uniqueness that Potion of Waterwalking took away immediately? Those were introduced right along with death knights.

Elixir of Waterwalking was introduced before DKs. Patch 2.4. It was never unique for DKs.

It wasnt really widely used though, unlike water striders

Unless your character is under 100. You will not receive a free pair of shoes and will have to go purchase them.

You consider these comments to be mature?
