This, right here.
I hop on the water strider maybe a couple times a week. I use my epic chicken mount much more. Because, lol@chickenmount.

If you want a water strider with water walking, use the water walking mount equipment. What’s so hard to understand about that…? All giving it ONLY water walking would do is give it LESS options and FORCED to only have one use.
The strider right now has waterwalking AND a less-damage-from-falls ‘bouncy’ effect. The equipment will not give it back that other effect, as well as being an inferior version of waterwalking than the mount offered before. That and we’re expected to BUY with gold an effect that we had to grind rep in order to BUY in the first place.
What’s so hard to understand about that?
Ion has issues with the strider. In a dream one was mean to him
So people are upset they’re making mounts equal once again and think they should have a mount that’s better than everyone else’s and force people to only use the water strider still when the whole point of this is so people DON’T have to?
Yup, you’ll be able to get a fast easy version of the water walking for ALL mounts for that same rep grind, so it wasn’t completely useless. You’ll still get to be special.
For the love of god. Stop being WRONG about this. If you feel forced to exclusively use the bug that it a you problem. Everyone else can function just fine only mounting the strider when and if they need to cross water
Why would you use anything else if a specific mount is better, though? If one mount had 10% extra move speed, people would ONLY use that mount. That’s not fun. Blizzard’s fixing that issue.
Everyone who has access to a water strider uses them. They look dumb.
Good riddance.
What is this commie bullspit? Mounts equal? Is the Lovebird equal to the Dragon equal to the Mammoth? Or are they entirely different classes of mounts? Blizzard’s laziness is evidenced in striders being alone in their class of waterwalking mounts, rather than them being ‘special’ or ‘better than everyone else’s’.
I agree, mounts should all be equal and there should be no specific “special” mount that’s “better” than the rest of the mounts.
Indeed. All mounts should be ground mounts that sink and carry no extra players or merchants, just as Vanilla intended.
And the incoming army of water walking cats, elpahants motorcycles, birds and what not is going to look less dumb.
You know it will happen. It will be a game everyone plays, what’s the most ridiculous thing to give water walking to.
A problem caused by only having one water walking mount and not allowing flight. Just allow flight or at least allow a bunch of flying things to hover across the water in no fly zones. And maybe create some new themed water walking mounts? This is an expansion based on a sea going culture. They have boat technology.
I agree. Flying should have never been implemented in the first place.
Get your commie self back to Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms being the entire world and out of the rest of the game.
I agree, I think people got spoiled by the flying in BC and when people found out how great it is to have that much freedom, people wanted it in every expansion.
Then go ahead and make wow classic fully out.And take our class abilities as well since they now are useless with these mounts with slots. Might as well use feathers again.
I wasn’t addicted to WoW until I went to Outlands and felt the rush of going airborne the first time (only reason the fel reaver didn’t stomp me every few minutes). Kudos to Blizzard for trying to wean me of that addiction, but it really doesn’t help the dealer to cure the addict, does it?
Yeah. Don’t get me wrong, I love flying as much as the next person. I think perhaps it should have only been allowed in the base game and not even in BC. Then only added to expansions after the next expansion had come out.
That would have been very difficult to pull off, and the devs at the time wouldn’t have thought of it. Burning Crusade was not ‘first of many expansions’, it was presented as ‘we wanted to put this in the game but weren’t able to yet’. They also weren’t really planning to put flying on Azeroth; Outlands wasn’t really a planet anymore and gravity was more easily overcome. (This doesn’t really jive with the flight points, but…we were young and didn’t know any better.)
I’m a DK. Everything I ride walks on water and looks rad.
Water striders, on the other hand, are just a ratchet wannabe DK mount and look un-rad.
