Keep slapping that face of yours, maybe youâll knock some sense into yourself in the process.
Mount families are probably the best option. Allow a variety of mounts with each trait.
For example: Boats, rafts, water striders, etc. can all have water walking. Allow a different set of mounts to allow herb gathering without dismounting. A 3rd set of mounts can have an anti-daze trait.
That way youâre not limited to the water strider for water walking or the sky golem for herb gathering. Itâs also more RP friendly since the mount abilities would make sense.
The other option I can think of that would work would be to have mount equipment be per mount account-wide. It feels wrong to have every single mount have the same trait per character. Iâd rather designate that my water strider and my horse mounts as water walking mounts, my azure drake and sandstone drake as anti-daze mounts, etc.

Hello. The above sentence is yours, and I gonna pretend you wrote it to me.
What I realize is my WATERSTRIDER can no longer carry me upon water. Its inherit ability to do so has been removed. Bred out of the line, according to Nat Pagle. Evolved. Ok, so the new models, the new herd donât do that no more, but mine is one of the OLD herd, specifically bred for that one trait. And that is all I ever expected or asked of it, to carry me across the waters. Also, it could fall down a cliff like a bag of balloons bobbling and bouncing, and landing on its feet.
Very cool, made for a useful escape or just a quick way down. I never thought of it as my best mount. And before the parsing of my words gets started I will be more clear. I NEVER thought of the Waterstrider as the best overall mount in the game. The waterstrider was handy, for crossing medium sized bodies of water in places I couldnât fly⌠thatâs all. MoP, Timeless Isle, and WoD. , a very sought after mount. The Strider is Homely, and a bouncey, somewhat slow ride, but on the water it was beautiful. Probably needed to be there, watching those oh,so lucky, oh, so privledged, peeps riding their Striders off the Isle, (sour grapes), or seeing a War-Band of Horde making a break over the Channel, Leaving Nagrand, crossing to Frostfire Ridge. Heres a ârealizationâ; To understand what I lost, you need to lose it yourself. And, maybe there was good reason to remove that unique Talent. Coding problems? idano⌠The reason I have heard? My waterstrider walked on water. I didnât have to equip it with anything. I didnât have to pay additional funds in order for it to have this ability. It was designed specifically with the ability to walk on water.
Whenever those few occasions arose in the game where it was necessary to cross large bodies of water, I used the waterstrider, because without doing anything at all other than summoning it, it worked perfectly.
Now, in order to have a water striding ability I have to equip it. If I need to replace the water walking equipment I have to pay for it.
So: My water strider does not work as designed anymore without special equipment and I have to pay for it.
The complete, diametrical opposite of âbetter.â

I donât have a huge collection, but I have some cool mounts that canât even fly so I never use them. Hopefully Blizzard will fix this soon by evolving our dragons, hawks and other mounts so they can only fly with flying equipment. Iâm sure youâd agree since you have such an awesome collection compared to the rest of us.

If they added an equipment that allowed even ground mounts to fly i would buy that in a heartbeat.

Not only that:
I ground out BOTH of them, on my Hunter. I did it at the same time, during a time/content gate in Legion (when she also raised all the reps in Wod, got Wod Pathfinder, nearly raised all the reps from MoP, etc. Come to think of it, there was a LOT of gating in Legion 
)
Iâm glad I did it, for the mount numbers, but still. The cool thing was having two different colored mounts that could walk on water, for my Priest and Hunter.
This Dk didnât use it, since I have the water walking ability thing (path of frost.) So now I have the parachute thing, as my mount equipment. It is the only useful one for me (surprisingly useful, a couple of times so far )

This thread makes me sad 
Part of the problem with just buying the water walking boots and sending them to my alt is that this alt is on another server. Canât mail them anything in-game.
Srsly? âDo you take every mounts name seriously?â Not the way youâre inferring, no. Jeez, get a perspective, huh? Iâm just saying that theyâre breaking what the damned mount was MEANT to do, otherwise thereâs no reason to grind forever to GET IT. Itâs NOT a âwater striderâ now. Thatâs what I was underscoring by kvetching about the name. The name isnât the point - Blizz doing bizarre things for no apparent reason is the point. If I could send this stupid add-on to all my alts (why am I being forced to spend extra gold for something I ALREADY HAD, again I canât help asking), then I would just do it, but I canât.

Mount equipment continues to be half-planned and then ignored. No new equips, confused system, messes up waterstrider on alts

Strange, I could send them not only to other servers, but cross-faction on other servers. Did you try typing the dash and server name?
