and guess what, you can go buy more for 40g each, while those who HAVNT EARNED THE MOUNT need to pay 4000 to 20,000 gold each and were gifted ZERO
you earned it and now you have it, and if you want more then you pay a pitiful 40g.
while everyone else has to pay insane gold costs, like they always have.

Came back to BFA cause friends and got this thing in the mail and I said “Yay! now I don’t have to ride the waterbug any more”
If you love the Bug then use it with the equipment on. I’m just happy to not see them everywhere and having some variety again.

Agreed, i hate it, i really hope with maybe 8.3.5 we get a “gathering” equipment, that allows you to gather while mounted.
mining, skinning, herbing, archeology, pickups, etc to make it on par with druids.
well mostly, druids still have instant cast mount…

I earned the mount handing in a bunch of badges from timewalking. If the argument is about a mount you had to grind hard for, TW nuked that from orbit way before we got mount gear.

but no people are mad that it got a mount gear thing instead of being built into the mount.
cause yeah the mount became insanely easy to get when TW MoP got added.

and not many people used them as their primary mount… they were predominantly used for their specific purpose of crossing water.
i don’t recall ever thinking “gee, i wish all my mounts could do this”.
newsflash, if they were happy with their potions, they didn’t care about the mount/s, and already had water walking on whichever mount they wanted.
why should i continue to pay for something, which i already paid for?
“here’s your fridge, it’s the only stuff in your house which keeps food cold, but we suddenly decided that after 10 years, you need to start paying extra for it to work” 
when something is taken away from you, then given back with terms, it isn’t a “gift”.
we earned it, it was removed, and now we have to continue to pay.
the cost is irrelevant.

yes it is, it is custoization and choice, cause you can ride any mount you want, you can ride your white raptor, or your dk horse, or your green protodrake, that is literally the most amount of choice and customization.
having to always use a red or blue bug is the opposite of choice and customization.
idk what world you live in, that we are forced to ride ONLY 2 horses.
yes, yes they did, every single player had the choice to go to the Ah and buy a water walkingg potion.
no, alot of people used them as their primary mount, cause what is easier, more efficnet, and less annoying.
ridding a mount, finding a river, and just continuing on as normal.
or riding a mount, getting to a river, having to dismount, remount on a new mount, cross the water, then dismount, and remount on your original mount.
yet you play a death knight, who literally can have all mounts walk on water, and has been able to for over a decade.
newsflash, people who were lazy and bought potions had water walking on whichever mount they wanted. while those who were dedicated and earned water walking, were forced to use A BUG and nothing else, aint that backwards to you? that the people who worked harder, got less?

Mount gear is not amazing as it has been implemented. I rather have mounts with special abilities then this.
It would have been amazing per mount, not character. Have certain mounts of your choice have certain abilities with this equipment but then the water strider would still have it’s unique ability. It is this ability that Blizz hates and eventually it will be gone. I wouldn’t be surprised if SL Pathfinder 1 unlocks mount equipment, after all it is only without all these capabilities (water walking, anti daze, etc…) that we can really experience the content.

…while ignoring that all our horses are recolors of the same mounts.

again, nobody was ever “forced” to use the bug… because as you keep stating, the option of potions was available to them.
the people who worked for the bugs, got the bugs.
the people who didn’t work for the bugs, were given ww as an equipment option… so the people who did no work at all, were rewarded, while the people who worked harder, had their work negated with this silly system.
i’m almost 50, and have only ever owned 2 fridges.
(only replaced the first one because it started looking tatty)

everyone “looks the same”.
they could have added a different style of water walking mounts.
there are heaps of underwater mounts, and i don’t think i’ve ever used any of them.

you love your water strider, and enjoy being able to use it. that sounds like fun, we can’t have that! ion fixed that for you. what would we do without him? so the next time you start wondering why you are still playing this game because it has become such a PITA. just remeber those 7 wonderful words of wisdom from ion, you think you do, but you don’t™

the water strider, nor the capability to walk on water have been removed.
i suggest you go read the previous 6000ish posts.
everyone understands that.
what people don’t like, is that a mount which was designed to walk on water, stopped being able to walk on water.
meanwhile, because everyone who levels takes herbalism for the extra xp, the world is full of people who are “forced” (to use your words) to ride the golem because they don’t need to dismount to herb.
i understand that you’re almost a year late to the thread, and clearly don’t feel like reading anything which happened before you came along, but if you’d done that, you’d be aware that the main frustration, is that one “special ability” mount was able to keep its ability, while another had its ability removed.

Mount equipment is dead content.
Look at how they haven’t updated any of it recently or announced some new additions. Patch 8.3 only introduces a bunch of new mounts but not new mount equipment.
Very telling sign that they have abandoned mount equipment. They have given up on a feature that they used to nerf the water strider. Here is my shocked pikachu face lol.

That is the only reason mount equipment was created, to get rid of water walking. They will abandon it next expac without a word, hoping we won’t notice to finally rid the game of one more QOL we worked for. Or it will open with pathfinder part 2 when we finally get flying, when mount equipment us utterly useless.
