I am not using ANY mount equipment.
So there, Blizz.
Another unnecessary change that does nothing but alienate players a little more. Will you ever learn, Activision-Blizzard?
They will find that the system FAILS big time. But when it does, and the equipment no longer works, there will be zero water walking mounts, which was their intent from the beginning.
Sad but true ;(
Flying will be the next to fall victim to the scourge of mount equipment.
Mark my words.
And they will lock it behind M+
Waterfeet shoes that somehow work on the junkheap wheel I got…
Just seems like the “lodestar” is actually plugging perceived leak after perceived leak in the boat, without the right hand knowing what the left hand is doing.
“Too many people on the water strider!” So now everything is a waterstrider, with zero lore behind it, whether or not it even physically makes sense. The mount “families” idea would have been a better approach, imo. I see it as a prelude to further delaying modes of travel if not effectively rendering them useless.
The “too many” argument kinda falls flat, when we used to be able to have any hunter pet be any pet spec we wanted, and now pet types are locked to a spec. So in some content, say, high Mythics, maybe, if they don’t run a mage or a shaman, for instance, the hunter is probably going to be using a Ferocity pet for the hero, perhaps. And ferocity pets are a narrower collection now than when ANY pet could be ferocity.
Are we going to start hearing about “too many cat pets!” next?
I’m still waiting for the detailed list of which mounts are the right ones to use and which mounts are the wrong ones. Don’t want to lose any more mounts because I’m using it wrong.
Ok still waiting on that list because as you know
So if we are using any other mounts wrong it’s on you Blizzard, because you will not let us know what mounts are the wrong one’s to use.
Maybe they should publish a list so that we know what not to ride. They could put it in with the Hotfix notes each week.
And they should start with that revolting ‘Riddler’s Mind Worm’ … which uses the flying serpent animation despite being only half or a third the length, and it’s not even balanced right.
It’s like someone turned Naga into playdough and shaped it into a flying piece of excrement. shudder
#wrongmountneveruse
Remember ''we’d prefer you don’t play that (talking about Demo 'locks)?
I love not having to ride the waterstrider BUG any more! I hated the shaking, the wiggling, the bug noises, everything. But I used it for water-walking.
Now I can use any ground mount that I like AND still get water-walking. I love it. It’s a major QOL improvement.
They could have added water walking equipment and left the water strider alone (and unusable with mount equipment) just like they did with the sky golem.

Yeah, I’m good, thanks.
Let’s see… my math isn’t so very good but I think that’s 17 hours and 53 mins. wow
Glad I kept up with it from the beginning
And given that my /played time is between 2 and 3 years… that’s still probably less time than I saved by using my now crippled water strider instead of swimming.
And no one wanted to take that QoL away from you, all we wanted was for them to leave our bug alone and exempt it from the equipment like other mounts with abilities.
What bugs me about the whole thing:
I play both factions. The character I have exalted anglers rep with is on horde. So cool, I can spend 50 gold to get the token for all my horde alts and mail it to them.
But Alliance side? Yay, now I have to spend 5k gold on the AH for each new character that was below 100, when it was previously free. Great, thanks.
Water bug should have been exempt like the sky golem.
The angler’s water walking shoes should be account bound, which means you should be able to mail them cross faction and cross server.
