Water Strider Discussion

Except that it is.

Be grateful you had the strider work 7 years past its initial expansion. I had expected it to be phased out in Draenor.

You’ll survive.

The thing I’m looking for the most with this change:

Once it goes live, people are going to realize what a messed-up system mount equipment is, and they’ll flip out. I predict lots of QQ on the forums, from people who were initially in support of the idea, and people who just didn’t care one way or the other.

Limiting choice is a bad idea.

Ideally they should learn from the “portal room” or the “classic transmog hunt”. They are both things they had to go back and fine tune due to horrid forum backlash. In this case they NEED to fine tune this before it lands on the live version. Possibly learn from their past mistakes and head them off at the pass.

Hahahahahalolol…

Noooo… Whomever was in charge of continuity, sanity, learning from mistakes and calling people out when they repeat them… That person cashed out and left blizzard, causing (or resulting from) the Activision deal.

It’s natural for corporations to repeat mid level mistakes because employee turn over erodes institutional memory… And few companies bother to retain execs/senior management with enough detailed focus and involvement to stop underlings from reinventing triangular wheels and other atrocities.

Once it goes live all the people that don’t visit the forums will realize what has happened and bad stuff will hit the fan.

That is so true! On one of the campuses I worked on, there was only one person left that knew how the pipes and the telco was routed. They just let him go without a knowledge dump. I tracked him down and made a map of the telco (I’m IT) - when they let me go, I asked if they wanted it, and they said "if you want to leave it with someone… "

Daft. Utterly daft. They pay people and then let them walk away without getting the knowledge they paid for. >.<

So damn true. having been through it in the corporate environment a lot before I finally retired. Yep. Spot on Jops. This is exactly right. They surround themselves with (mostly young but not always) sycophants who tow the line and support the corporate deal. Those that jumped ship took the buyouts, took the money and ran. I’ve seen it a zillion times. Been there. This is exactly 100% correct.

And this is exactly why the game is what it is today.

No one said I wouldn’t. But I do absolutely have the right to state my distaste for what they are doing and to give any feedback I feel needs to be given.

I certainly will but not necessarily in this game.

So we’d have to buy an equipment for every single character for an ability I already unlocked after months of grinding? Just make mounts with special abilities keep their abilities and not have the equipment you currently have applied effect them.

If you have unlocked either strider already, all current and (I believe) future alts will receive a 1-time freebie in the mail.

Blizzard should strip you of everything you have earned through rep.

Whataboutism?

Call you names? What name did I call you exactly? Or do you just enjoy playing victim in every post?

What I said is an example of “things changing”. Believe it or not there are way for important issues in this game- a lot more important, to say the least- than your little water strider (a single mount out of 700+).

Huzzah.
More than makes up for the latest round of Blizzard meddling in a game function that wasn’t an issue before they made it one.
As usual.

Ah yes, the old ‘there are more important things so we get to mess with you on this.’ line.
If these other ‘for important issues’ are so very much as you say(whatever they actually are), then why doesn’t Blizzard focus on them, as opposed to this made-up issue that had never seen the light of keyboards, mostly for the reason that IT NEVER EXISTED until Blizzard invented it?

Sorry, but why don’t you go ahead and ask Blizzard that question.

Chops off your hair as you get your little breakfast and sip on your little tea.

This would definitely have to be a drop from Throne of Thunder.

Because I’m asking you.
