Water Strider Discussion

What about tanks? Did they change it for them as well? One of the “go ahead and get rid of water-walking on the strider” arguments is that if you’re a tank you don’t need to worry about being dazed.

It is a crying shame. I love to explore the sea and I know that these new islands will have sea to be explored. So now they are making my world smaller by making me choose to be able to do my quests without being dazed or explore the world from the sea. :frowning:

As someone that doesn’t generally use tank specs for solo PvE, I wouldn’t be a good person to compare live to PTR. I just know that Demon Skin had been -awesome- dismount protection… but in 8.2 it’s like it’s not even there.

I would test a tank out there but I dislike spoilers so I stay away from new areas in the PTR. Perhaps I will run one of my tanks through Nazmir on the PTR and see what happens.

yes but the main problem with this, is it makes perfect sense, something the devs just do not understand. sometimes I think they just love to cause chaos among the player base.

Dragged my Vengeance DH through Nazmir and Najzatar on PTR, took a stupid amount of damage, never once got dismounted by the same things that now insta-dismount my warlock.

So yay for tanks I guess. :frowning:

SOMETIMES? Youre a nice person :joy::joy::joy:

It will be nice to water-walk on non-bugs and to also not see everyone else on one.

This change cannot come soon enough.

If I’ve been reading this thread right neither will you. You’ll be running anti daze gear or you’ll be unmounted.

I’m smart enough to…not run through packs of NPCs.

People have been saying the new zones are overloaded. Well see what 8.2 brings.

We’re not asking them to roll the change back, we just want them to leave the strider’s ability alone and restrict it from any more equipment. Just like they’re already doing with yaks and golems and the like. Leave the striders alone, please; we earned them, and we want them to stay just the way they are.

And those of you who don’t like the strider? Feel free to put water boots on whatever mount you want.

And the nerfing to other travel conveniences begins…

I will let the idiocy of your keyboard courage post history speaks for itself. The point of my post is that groups will no longer need a dk to enable water elating for the group, thus obviating some of their utility.

That’s not going to happen at this late stage. Put on the freebie WW boots and never think of the new mount slot again, nothing’s changed.

Honestly Tarc, whether you believe it or not, this will never go away. It will be like flying. The devs and their white knights can believe it will go away once that patch launched, but they have no clue how mad people are. They also cant see how changes like this in the past have gone.

Its cool if you disagree with me on the merits of the change but you need to accept the anger from the players is not going to go away.

If you wanna be angry that’s fine, bu that doesn’t affect design decisions. This system is a go already, you still have Pathfinder and you still have Portal Rooms (and portal-less old content hubs).

When the entirety of your WoW experience just becomes General Discussion complaining, you become less of a performing Muppet on-stage and more of a Statler & Waldorf up in the balcony. If that’s your aim, then…well, it’s good to have solid goals in life I guess. :sunglasses:

Well I am glad you seem to think that everyone is so addicted they will stay. I for one bet most will not. The addicted will stay, others will move on.

If the devs dont take into account player preference the their “Design Decisions” I can’t wait to see this game go down in flames and take the company with it. I don’t believe in celebrating in others suffering, however, with the hubris of these devs, I could just make an exception

(removes the coffee machine from the Dev lounge) Sorry the players feel this is too OP for you. I’m sure it’s not a problem, I mean how many times do you need coffee anyways.

“Enjoying” and “being addicted” are not synonyms. Not everyone plays the same game forever. Leaving is fine, good luck with future endeavors.

This is precisely the type of selfishness I have been referring to. It’s not the fact that they couldn’t care less that bliz is removing a worked-for ability.
It’s not that they appreciate having other abilities made for them.
It’s that they don’t like seeing the strider so much. It bothers them to see a mount they don’t like.
The epitome and very definition of selfish.
