Blizz should release new water strider mounts just to troll the playerbase at this point.

Sad, but true, and they recognize that some people will not cancel their subs. However, that number is a lot smaller than it used to be and eventually that the padding they get from store sales will not cover the loss of subs.

But that time isn’t here yet. It is coming faster than before, but not this year. The subs classic bring in will artificially inflate this metric for awhile.

I am waiting for Classic. I won’t be cancelling my sub because of it but you are correct, the classic subs will cover the loss of subs for a while.
However, those on classic only will not be buying current expansions or items for those expansions from the shop.
They cannot continue the loss of subs from stupid decisions like this without there being a tipping point at some time in the future where their house of cards will collapse.

Or they can just make one mount. No need to have multiples if they will all do the same thing.

Some are complaining that they have to use the ‘ugly’ strider because if its ability. The rest don’t want something they worked for be gutted.

Mount transmog literally would fix the issue and would have no negatives to the players. (Yes I was very specific with that last part.)

heck mounts with an ability to knock people off theirs

As far as I’m concerned, if they change the ability of a mount that took 2 to 3 months for me to farm for, I’m going to speak with my wallet. I’ve already cancelled my subscription and will only renew if they change their policy on this. I urge everyone else to do the same.

If I were in Blizzard’s shoes, I’d have my best developers hard at work on the next xpac so that when the excitement of classic starts to die down, they would get excited about what it to come and be enticed to purchase the game.

You are right, we will have to make such a choice, making it easier for mount water-walking to just simply disappear.

Actually, they will have such a high density of mobs we’ll have to take the anti daze equipment so we can ride past mobs without having to fight everything.

What are you talking about?! If you get hit while riding a water strider right now you lose water walking anyway, what difference does getting dazed even make at that point?

The difference is i can put on a barding and ride my class mount around and not be dazed, and when I come to water I can switch to my Strider and run across the water.

With 8.2 I will have to equip anti daze to run around on my class mount(or any other mount) and when I come to water I have to stop equip water walking and run across water and If i want anti daze back I have to spend more gold to change yet again.

Why do i need to keep paying for what I already earned and Keep Buying the same thing over and over when I already have everything I need already in game.

I can make any mount I have walk in water, If I don’t want to use strider, from the free mats I can get in my garrison to make water walking potions and I can make goblin gliders in my garrison with the free mats.

Every thing this mount equipmentis giving me I already have for free and Now I will have to Pay for it over and over and over again on every alt I have.

If you want people using other mounts more, give the other mounts useful capabilities.

Break the mount list into families…the striders, the horses, the elekks/kodos, etc. The striders waterwalk, the bigger critters are undazeable, the horses can dash, something treasurefinds BfA purple chests, cats give you few levels of aggro radius reduction. And so on. I’m sure you can come up with other good ones.

It’s silly to take the built-for-waterwalking mount and say it can’t walk on water till it has a charm on it.

Please level the mounts out by giving the others desirable special functions, rather than by stripping one of its perfectly matched and EXPECTED special function.

Did you race change? Just curious, because you are saying you made your character in 2007. Thought troll druids were not a playable race, class combo until cataclysm.

I swear if this goes live I will just leave water walking on and pretend this dumb system doesn’t exist at all. The imaginary gold sink blizzard made with not get any gold out of me. And probably a good amount of player will do the same exact thing. Before you know it the system will be just as useful as our twitter link.

If they really wanted to sap away my gold all they have to do is add more hairstyles and customization.

Which is why they don’t care about how you or other subscribers feel. Quit paying them and they might care. But if you care more about the game than the strider? Then they see it’s not important enough that they will lose money and just don’t care!

I did something today that I haven’t done since I started playing in 2007. I cancelled my subscription. Since I pay in 6 month increments, I’ll be around to see what happens from now until some date between today and October 19th so we’ll see what they do and if I keep my sub cancelled.

I find it a little disconcerting that they truly seem not to care if we unsub, or why we unsub, anymore. They don’t even bother with the short survey anymore. Just remove payment method and no one cares.

Good luck in the fight. I’m pretty much done. I’ll be reading but probably not saying much at all. I honestly don’t think they care anymore.

Not really “progression” considering how few will get one. The rest of BFA’s stuff is transient/temporary/limited, with no promise of future utility.

So, basically, we’re at the point of stagnation. No forward progression anymore. Scaling keeps us in place on the treadmill, lack of innovation gives us no new quality of life improvements to pursue. The story isn’t compelling anymore.
