So when they prune one of your 4 available specs, we can haul this line out.
I made this toon back in like 07â - my specs have changed countless times, bud.
Why? How does what I do playing this game have any impact on what you do playing this game?
Please give me a real life example of how the strider has impacted your gaming experience.
Exactly! People need to come to realize this or they will at some point be crying in their (patch 8.w.t.f.0 )
Why is it not âokayâ? Does not every player have a chance to acquire these special mounts? Why do all the mounts have to have the same abilities? Should non-flying mounts all be able to fly like flying ones? What is the reasoning behind your assertion?
If I want a mount that walks on water I have 2 mount options out of 700+. Thats how.
How does someone having those impact your gaming experience though? You have the ability to get those mounts just like we all did.
Couldnât had said it better ShamageddonâŚits all BS what they are doing to us owners of these stridersâŚ
Quoted for truth!
Based on the number of mounts you have collected, mounts are not important to you. This is fine. You like to do other things in this game.
However, over the years Blizzard created content for people who like to collect unique items like mounts. Most often that content was for people to grind something in order to obtain that unique mount. Be it grind the items needed to build the Golem, gold for the AH mount, complete super secret tasks for the hivemind, or rep for the water-walking strider.
People did these things believing that Blizzard was operating in good faith.
You cannot blame people for being angry that Blizzard is breaking that good faith.
You may not understand it because these are things you do not value when playing the game, however, there are people within the community that do value them. They worked hard at obtaining these special items and they should not have to lose them because a new system is being implemented.
I will stop responding to your posts now because it is clear that you do not want to understand the other side of this issue.
Have a very nice evening.
No, there are two. There could be more, but Blizzard decided they donât like them.
And what do you mean itâs âOPâ ⌠it is what it is. A mode of transportation, like swimming or flying or running on the ground. The QUANTITY of mounts capable of doing that is irrelevant. The availability of it is irrelevant because, as many things in the game are, you can have it if you make the effort to earn it, therefore itâs âfairâ.
If you have an anglerâs raft, youâre better off because, honestly, you can use it to water walk as fast, if not faster, than the water strider⌠AND use it in places that donât allow mounting.
The problem is, it requires rep or fishing skill to -USE- and isnât available to alts. (last I checked).
Your point makes no sense to me, whatever it is⌠And I donât need to get all ad hominem on your face to get that point across.
I have a special thumb button on my mouse for âAUGH IâM FALLING!â.
On priest: macro to SELF levitate (incase I have someone else targeted)
On Mage: macro to self feather-fall
On Druid: macro to switch to boomkin, press again for âflapâ
On Z-troll: dino-glider
On engineers: macro to use cape glider tinker
On DH: macro to dismount & glide
On everything else: Use a glider from my bags
And I end up dying on the PTR to falling death often, because I always forget to set that up. =/
Easy enoughâŚmake the BFA BOAT that fliesâŚFLOAT.
Was always an option for them to make new WWing mounts.
They chose option B, the lame option, instead.
If they gave me about 10 minutes, I could come up with another few dozen mounts that would make great water walking mounts. Lore-appropriate ones, too.
The larger issue (for me) is âCharacter Progressionâ.
If an expansion doesnât give us something useful that lasts, that carries forward, then whatâs the point? Just skip that expansion and come back for the next?
Cata introduced passenger mounts.
MoP introduced the water walking, herbing and transmog mounts
WoD made swimming mounts available and a 2nd hearthstone
Legion gave us a sweet powerful fishing pole, several swimming mounts and a 3rd hearthstone
bfa ⌠made an auctioneer mount available, for ~40 WoWTokens worth of gold.
Not really âprogressionâ considering how few will get one. The rest of BFAâs stuff is transient/temporary/limited, with no promise of future utility.
So, basically, weâre at the point of stagnation. No forward progression anymore. Scaling keeps us in place on the treadmill, lack of innovation gives us no new quality of life improvements to pursue. The story isnât compelling anymore.
All that keeps me here is the graphics are pretty and the fact Iâve put so much time into this game already that itâs hard to let go.
But I have no reason to believe that thereâs any interesting âpotentialâ left to discover in this game, because Blizzard seems completely uninterested in developing any.
Because its less options and less variety etc. I donât want to be forced to grind for a water strider if I want a mount that walks on water. Just like players donât want to be forced to raid if they want good gear- now there are mythic dungeons, random gear rewards for PVP etc.
âI donât want to be forced to grind for the mount that was made to walk on water just so I can walk on water. I want you to make it so I can walk on water with some other mount that was not made for water walking.â
The answer to this is âyesâ. They believe that people are so addicted that they can literally serve crap on a plate and provide no service, and make money.
The only way to purchase the water walking equipment is to do that rep grind. So your implied rationale for the change is incorrect.
My opinion, water walking will become Pathfinder 2.0, and that they plan on taking away Water Walking functionality at the start of next expansion. You will be forced to re-earn it over and over. Why? Again, IMO, they want to eliminate alleged âshortcutsâ and slow down the leveling ; especially for alts.
âFewer optionsâ not less⌠but whatever.
And arguing that itâs unfair because youâre too lazy is an argument that doesnât even deserve to be taken seriously.
