It not impractical for those who use the potions currently.
What some people donât want to understand is that today itâs the water strider. Next time it could be 2 seaters, or transmog/auction mounts, or flying. Then what?
I donât think you know what the word means.
Do you know what opinion means? Others donât find using the potions over the mount impractical. They do what they want. Others donât mind the mount, like me, so we use it.
So because someone doesnât want to keep a stack of potions on them, I have to have my water walking mount (that was made specifically to walk on water) lose itâs innate ability? Why is someoneâs need to not have potions greater than my need to keep what I have had for years already?
Thatâs not what Iâm talking about.
Theyâre claiming that water striders are just as practical as water walking potions. They arenât.
Would you rather have an infinite usage flask or would you rather need to buy them every time you drank one?
Would you rather use a slowfall consumable or cast it as a spell?
I already have the equivalent of an infinite usage flask. Itâs called a water strider. It was made to walk on water. Itâs working as intended.
That doesnât mean that youâre being practical. Practical doesnât mean better across the board for you personally.
I will have to buy one every time I want to change from water walking to another piece of equipment to fit that zone or situation and then buy another one to switch back to water walking, and then buy another one when I need to switch again, and on and on and on.
By whose definition of practicality?
Edit: Why do you need infinite water walking anyway? Itâs an on-use thing. Which potions can provide.
This is my point.
You would rather have an infinite usage flask for water walking, aka a water strider, than a stack of flasks. This is why people choose it.
Itâs not practical for a mount that was created to walk on the water to actually walk on the water without having to put a piece of equipment on it?
Thatâs not an issue of practicality, itâs an issue of immersion in which case you can then suggest that your immersion has been disrupted.
I donât want an infinite use flask! I want my mount to do what itâs supposed to do. Itâs supposed to walk on water. Thatâs it. Thatâs what I want. I donât want it to do anything else. But thatâs getting taken away unless I want to use equipment to make it happen.
By the definition of whatâs easiest, whatâs the least amount of time and effort that must be put forth to achieve XYZ. Many people play by this method.
This changed with patch 8.1.5. While they couldnât put the portal to COT back in right away, they were able to make it so you can have all 50 characters on one realm.
Alright.
:l
Itâs like Iâm talking to a sheet of cellophane.
No. Itâs like we have differing opinions and we are sharing them with one another. But okay.
Believe me, I am sure the feeling is mutual.
Thatâs on the people who use that method. But even so, others disagree with you and see no difference in practicality.
But this conversation is boring. I think the real question is, do you care whether or not the water strider retains its ability to water walk and be treated like the Sky Golem? If so, why do you care what other people do if they use the water strider that they earned even with the mount equipment option (bugs excluded) in the game? How does that affect you?
