I already have this option. I have a mount that walks on water. I have mounts that fly. I have ground mounts. I don’t use my water walker in the desert. I don’t use my flying mount in no fly zones. I don’t need equipment slots to choose those things. With all of the things that need fixed in this game, people choosing to use mounts that they don’t find visually appealing made the list?
From a practical standpoint it’s more useful. It doesn’t require you to buy/create water walking potions and it doesn’t require you drink them, it also doesn’t have a time limit.
You’re of the same group I’m in, but I often see people hopping on water striders even in dungeons. Some want one key for a land mount, one key for a flying mount.
Apparently it’s a problem Blizzard wants to address.
I don’t get why players come into this thread to gloat about us losing something we worked for. How on earth does it hurt anyone else if they leave the water walking ability on the strider, but don’t allow it to use any other mount equipment? Right, it doesn’t.
Okay. If you think an infinite duration water walking potion that you don’t need to restock on and drink could possibly be less practical than water walking potions with a set duration that’re one time use, I think you’re being intellectually dishonest for the sake of the argument.
But this is a choice. They are choosing to use the water strider in places they don’t need to because they don’t want to have to press a different key. So because they’re lazy, the ability for my water strider to walk on water, what it was MADE TO DO, needs to get removed and I’ll have to buy it now instead? In what universe does that make any sense?
If they wanted to be practical, they wouldn’t gimp a rep mount that people earned. If I had known that down the road Ion would take an earned ability away, I wouldn’t have wasted my time during MoP.
This is where I personally have a problem with this fiasco. I am losing my time I put into this game FOR A REP REWARD!!! Anyway Blizz or their sycophants spin this, I’m losing my reward for playing their game the way they intended. And, not only am I losing said reward, I’m also losing the ability to use crafted goods to enhance my play experience and the CHOICE of using them all at once.
No wonder AOC is in congress, the bait and switch really works on mental midgets who willingly give up their freedoms.
It’s a give and take. Like I said before, imagine if the water strider was someone’s favorite mount and they were excited to use the new equipment to make it glide too!
What’s reasonable to you might not be reasonable to all.
If you don’t want to use the bug, you have other means to do so. No one is twisting your arm to do it. Others on here have already said they use the potions. I don’t because I don’t mind the mount.
The water walking piece of equipment means that none of my other mounts can use any other type of equipment, when right now I can water walk free and clear with no restrictions. It’s not being dishonest for the sake of the argument. It’s pointing out that people do have other options as it stands right now for walking on water with other mounts.
If you dont break EVERY OTHER SINGLE USE MOUNT, 2 seaters, ah, transmog, herb picking, flying, underwater, etc and EVERY CLASS ABILITY THAT GIVES THE SAME BENEFIT you have no argument its game breaking.
You can choose something less practical because of an aesthetic reason, but practicality is not really a debate of opinion when we’re talking about the difference between needing to keep a stock of potions and not needing to.
