They will sell it pretty decently which in turn will add to the cost of the equipment piece of course. Which will be the same for all of the equipment pieces. I am doubting that 1k price at the release.
So these items will be very expensive to purchase. I also wonder about the water-walking shoes. Everyone says one of the reasons for removing water walking from the strider was the fact that all you ever saw was people on striders. This indicates that āeveryoneā has striders. Therefore wouldnāt āeveryoneā be able to just buy the equipment from the Anglers?
I wonder just how much the boots will be on the AH at launch and going on from there?
Iām grateful that my guild has almost every profession at max level and we can just trade items around, but yeah, I donāt see things that require two professions (three if you include gathering the base mats for blacksmiths and leather workers) being sold in the 1k range while the expac is current.
I also donāt see these working next expansion, since that would mean players were āforcedā to farm old content for the mats.
It boggles my mind how they will nerf the water strider yet leave the Skygolem untouched.
Iām happy they are adding this functionality to other mounts so I donāt have to default to the water strider, but why not leave the strider alone. We are playing a fantasy game here, Iād like for some of the immersive aspects to stay intact.
I would think that it depends on how many people need to buy them on the run and donāt want to go to Pandaria to get them.
Also, someone mentioned that the current barding/hoof-plates are working in the new zones on the PTR. Wondering if they are going to do a stealth nerf on these items so they do not once this patch goes live.
Canāt really see people buying equipment of items that are currently in the game.
Legionās stirrups didnāt work on Argus, so I have little hope that items specifically tagged as Zandalar and Kul Tiras will work in Mechagon and Nazjatar once those go live.
Also have to remember the fact that these can be locked off behind a rep grind or something like getting mats from raids/dungeons also. So if you want to learn the pattern you need to be X rep with X faction. Possibly unlock-able behind a quest line like some of the Legion cooking things. Can be anything really, then to farm the mats to make them and price inflation at start of any xpac which lasts a while.
I generally like to have all professions maxed across my alts on the same server, because I like being self-sufficient.
But then my guild decided to move off of the enemy faction dominated server we were on. Moving went -so- badly that it broke my main character. Took days to fix. Same happened when I tried my #2 alt, even with -extra- precautions. And they still charged me despite the massive screw-up.
I gave up on the idea of moving the rest. Thatās $250 in transfer fees that I had planned on spending, thatās now in the pockets of one of Blizzardās competitors because Iāve almost completely lost faith in the design direction for World of Warcraft.
Thatās worse, actually.
Except that I also misunderstood. You get one equipment slot for all mounts on one character apparently.
Way worse than i thougjt.
This is why I finally walked away.
I differ, you do take demage and die I know it happen to me on live recently.Did everything as normally I would but this time ,āwhat theā¦ā. It never happen before Iāll hit the water bounce but no demage, try it now and itāll kill you. They did something about the time we had the patch.
One word description ,Sigh.
Be careful, Path of Frost and Shaman water walking might be next.
You have to have a level 100 to unlock it on your lower level toons. When we bought the waterstrider we were level 90 so they have bumped up the usage 10 levels.
Sabine is talking about something elseā¦ alts are supposed to get the āone free mount equipment in the mailā, but on PTR only alts that were level 100+ got the mail.
We donāt know if thatās how itās going to be for live or not.
What the person was saying was that if the toon was under lvl 100 they didnāt get the boots but all their toons over 100 did. I found this to be true as well. None of my low lvl toons I copied over had a pair of water walking boots in their mail, but my high level toons did.
ANY cost, even one copper, to regain what we have had for YEARS, is totally unacceptable.
Strider should be treated the SAME as the golem: keep its innate ability but cannot use equipment.
I donāt see why this is unreasonable.
Honestly Iām not sure why the equipment isnāt just āunlockedā for your account much like every other collection thing in game. Toys/pets/mounts/appearances already are.
It should just be an account wide equipment slot which is unlocked per character when they reach a certain level, but otherwise all current equipment should be available to be used.
So if you the water walking and dazed equipment on one character you have it to all, every character above level 100 is able to activate it. Any character below 100 still has it, however it is locked until 100 at which point they can set their equipment once itās unlocked.
