I’m happy with the Water Strider nerf, seriously it was annoying seeing those bugs literally everywhere.

Mount equipment applies to all mounts, and there is no indication we will be able to just mail it to all our characters. In fact quite the opposite from what was said, we will have to buy it for each alt.
You do realize you’ll get a water walking mount equipment in the mail when you login if you have the strider right? Brilliant argument.
Because this is based on Anglers rep, you’ll got the token on the character that you have exalted with (which is what’s required to buy the mount in the first place.) and therefor the character you can purchase the token on.
So unless you have their rep at exalted on multiple characters you’ll only get the one free token on the single character that you have exalted with them.
Yikes, imagine having the mental capacity to miss that you don’t get to pick and choose which mounts get what equipment, you have to sacrifice your ONE slot to get back something you’re losing for no reason.

How about no? It is easier to remove it, and attach it again if you want to use a Waterstrider for water walking. What’s the problem with that?
Later on, they might add more choices and so my water strider wouldn’t have any because they decided to exclude because a few whiners cry about it on the forums? No thanks. If you want water walking, apply the item again. No big deal. That way it leaves the choice open for future equipment.

After thinking about it I understand why it’s being nerfed. You only need to use the Water Strider when crossing water. If they left the ability in it means you can effectively have two mount perks. It’s why it’s not being removed from the Sky Golem. You wouldn’t mount your Sky Golem just to herb so it doesn’t matter if it keeps its ability.
It doesn’t mean I like it though. I worked for the mount and the nerf just brings into question as to why I bother doing anything that takes effort in this game if Blizzard can just take it away on a whim.
If someone at Blizz is sick of seeing Striders everywhere stop grounding the players for months after the expansion has been released.

What we were told was this:
- If you have the Water Strider mount, you receive the water walking mount equipment for free in the mail on patch day.
- Furthermore, if you already have the strider you can buy the water walking mount equipment for a substantially reduced price from the vendor who sold you the mount.
Do you know the information you’re saying is true or are you sharing speculation as if it’s factual. I asked you for citation to this before. You have still failed to provide it.
And even if that were true, which it has not been established that it is, we don’t know the cost with and without the reputation. So we don’t know if it’s just a matter of a quick trip to pick up cheap BoA mount equipment to mail around to our different toons or if it’s actually a pita taking each toon out to buy the item that’s expensive. We have no reason to believe the worst case scenario.
To those who are fine with this change, and honest question:
How would you feel if…
The mammoth, Yak and brutosaur mounts lost their vendors and the vendors were added to the mount equipment system?
The sky golem lost its harvesting ability, and that was added to the equipment system?
if tanks and shields lost their daze protection in order to increase the popularity of the anti-daze equipment and prevent effective “double dipping”?
I’m just trying to gauge the line, if it exists, and what would be crossing it.

I’m having trouble understanding because your argument makes zero sense regardless of whether we’re talking about acquiring the equipment or not. You have water walking now. You log in 8.2 patch day and you still have water walking. What was stolen from you again?
If you can’t double dip then the entire system is useless. People who have the Water Strider will just use the waterwalking equipment, because we want to retain that functionality. It’s completely asinine.
And don’t ever apologize for that. We as players have to set a standard because apparently Blizz is willing to violate any standard.
So this is what you are whining about. Good to know, so I can just ignore you. It’s always those kind of players. Don’t change WoW.
