I’m sorry I had fun on my water strider… I didn’t mean to!! I promise not to any time in the future. Please don’t cut off his poor widdle feet! I swear I didn’t mean to trigger your fun alarm.
Hey look over there, I’m having fun with these excess dungeon mobs… so much fun… can you smell it Blizzard…go get em!! Don’t mind the bug, I will just take him behind this wall and yell at him for you.
I have no doubt shamans and dk’s WILL lose those abilities. Probably when the next expansion releases. We will also lose water walking potions, barding, stirrups, and a lot of other things that make this game fun and interesting.
That would be the least troublesome (for them) solution, and what we are asking to get (at the very least).
No, it wouldn’t. Either all my mounts water walk, or none of them does, but I farmed that rep to get the water walking mount. If I need to buy up to 49 (50 if I originally only got the Crimson Water Strider) items to have the same ability I already had on my alts, then I’m losing something I earned just because.
Is less than what we had. And again, if you only got the Crimson Water Strider from WoD you won’t get any equipment or discount. And as I already said, as well, paying 1 copper for something that is already mine isn’t ok. Why should I pay to get again something I’ve already paid for???
Couldn’t agree more, that was my first proposal
Just the one, for the one character, so you need up to 49 (50 if you only got the Crimson Strider, and you’ll get no discount) extra tokens to be regained; just for your Water Strider to be able to Stride on Water
I disagree. I haven’t seen them give one tiny shizzam about all the hoopla about flying.
Not about flying, not all the crying about PvP, the continuing saga about blowing up guild permissions, changes in portals, and I have zero faith they’ll even acknowledge all the pushback about these striders… and the dumb reason they entertain themselves with this new mount equipment.
I did, but only long enough to discover that 25% of my mounts cannot be re-mounted if you take damage and are trying to mount up in the water. Went through the intro getting to Mechagon, got there, saw how small the area is and how much aggro can be pulled from here to waaaay over there (in combat, can’t mount) due to the mob density. Realized everything added up to where we are going with this mount equipment system, and just logged off.
It’s no longer just about the loss of the waterstriders for me, it’s the point where I’ll just say it was entertaining for quite a few years.
So you’re the reason we are all losing the water-walking ability on our striders. Shame on you! Having fun on that mount!
I doubt they will as well. They do not care what their customers think on the subject. They have wanted to get rid of water-walking and they found a way to get to reach that end. Sad, isn’t it.
I feel like this kinda of pushing of expac philosophy really kicked off a long time ago with the camera nerf and then just moving from topic to topic. Sadly that didn’t pan out for a lot of us.
I had the same experience. Logged onto the PTR. Did some initial questing/testing. Many mounts don’t work, you can’t remount and use WW after it breaks so you’re stuck swimming, mounting over there is ridiculous anyway with mob density every 2 feet. Not fun for me, anyway.
The Water Strider Mount should have permanent water walking ability PLUS a slot for the other mount add-ons. Remember, it’s NOT a flying mount, so it’s still not as “OP” as a flying mount WITH a slot. The only real benefit to the Water Strider is pre-Pathfinder expansion time when people aren’t allowed to fly yet.
If you took the time to grind those Angler fishing dailies and/or Timewalking Tokens, you SHOULD be rewarded for your efforts.
The real irony of this change is that all of the people currently complaining about how they were “forced” to use the water strider because they’re too lazy to remount when they come to water, will almost certainly be forced to remount every time they reach water because they took 1 point of damage tripping over a rock and now their water walking is broken.
Will do! It’s kind of fascinating to watch, like a wreck you are not a part of. Just a reminder to anyone reading this MoP timewalking is happening right now, so you can get your Angler’s rep from neutral to max in as little as one day. You def should have time over this week. So don’t worry about wasting time with dailies, just use Timewalking badges and buy your rep, get your strider, and enjoy your free boots.
You do get a free pair of boots, and then cheap ones from the vendor. I know you’re trying be a smart mouth, but it’s actually true. That’s also why I made that PSA thread today, so people know that this is the time to get that stuff. Otherwise, after 8.2 they may regret having to pay the AH prices for the inflatable boots.
This is so true and then they will be annoyed because when they use “favorite mount”, they’ll end up on a big mount that won’t get on top of the water. So all that time will be wasted. lol
For weeks, not days, you have been heavily invested in this topic and defending the pointless change. As someone that claims to have only played a druid, why do you care so much? AT this point you come across as someone defending their own decision.
I do not know what you are talking about. I have 32 toons (this one at max and 31 at 110 and higher), you must have me confused with someone else.
OH as far as why I care, I am just one of those strange, weird folks that like being good and helping the community. I like to ensure folks have a chance to get goodies that they might miss. Not everyone realizes that MoP timewalking = fast and easy inflatable boots for the future, so it’s always good to point out things like this, in my opinion. It’s this concept you probably never see on these forums, called “helping”.
If you mean me, I live in Utah and I am self employed. Maybe you cannot cope with people having different opinions than your own, so you turn us into Blizzard boogeymen.
