Well, Iâve never seen anyone so upset over pixel changes as to talk about lawsuits. I think I would just quit the game before I would even consider something like that. /smh
Better to correct the problem sooner than later imo.
The first part of what you said sounds sensible. Iâd love to get into the technical limitations behind these systems. Why would the data storage be that much more than what is already allocated to the character, though? We can give equipments to followers and those persist outside of our character. How much more hardware resource would be needed to give mount items to individual mounts?
You immediately lose me when you start turning Blizzard into an agency-stealing boogey-man, though, which I donât think does anything to prop up your point. Iâm happy to call Blizzard out over their blunders, which I think rests chiefly with the story and narrative direction more than anything, but letâs avoid the low-hanging fruit.
Add more what? Mounts or innate passive effects? Because personally, I"d love to see more passives, and even some active mount abilities. Mounted combat was never really something we needed, but travel abilities / engagement abilities would be really cool. I wanna trample stuff with Elekks and ram into stuff with Boars. A mount revamp is sorely needed for this game.
Besides, hunter pet looting is a channeled spell.
You have to stand still while waiting for your pet to run to the corpse, loot it and run back to you. And AoE looting doesnât work as well for a pet looting as it does when you loot yourself, so you often have to send it out repeatedly in different directions.
Itâs sometimes handy if the pet is already at a distant lootable corpse, or if the loot is difficult to access. But mostly itâs quicker to just loot things yourself.
With all of the problems going on, and their inability to fix them without creating more problems or making the whole thing worse, them focusing their attention on something so trivial doesnât seem like an exciting plan.
uhâŠMOST of our currency is electronic. You know that right?
You saying if someone steals my electronic money from my bank accounts that its ok because it wasnt cash?
Obviously not.
Just because its digital doesnt void the fraud element.
AdditionallyâŠmp3 music is âdigitalâ as well.
Is it ok to pirate copyrighted music because its digital?
Just because something isnt physical doesnt mean that it has no value to the person who worked for it.
What if you paid for your WoW account and they decided for no good reason you werent allowed to play it?
Would that be ok because its âjust digitalâ ?
I dont think it qualifies as a âblunderâ when a company reneges on something with full knowledge and intent.
They know millions of players likely put in the time for the mount, then the just take away the ONLY reason anyone would even do the grind for that hideous looking beastâŠand then to add insult to injury tell those who did the grind to get it that they are CHARGING them to have the ability they removed PER character.
I call that calulated/ premeditated and nothing like a âblunderâ.
In the real world this kind of stuff would be a criminal charge.
how long has that âin combatâ bug been going on?
Crickets from Blizzard.
Theyd rather spend that dev time fixing crap that wasnt broken.
If they wanted more water walkersâŠwhich clearly they DIDNT (BFA BOAT MOUNT that doesnt FLOAT) or they could have just made a couple mounts that WW.
The more crap they pull, the less hope I have that this game is going to last another 18 months.
There will be a day when one of two things will happen.
The game will cease to exist, or you will stop playing due to whatever.
Just remember. Every time you say âI acceptâ by clicking through EULAs, you are empowering them to make changes as needed or as they see fit. And since they control the rights to access the game and all of its data, which includes everything up to and including them disallowing you to play the game, youâd be wise to not agree with the changes, for whatever reason or reasons you feel are not acceptable to you.
Iâve never advocated or recommended players to âleaveâ the game, even those that seem like it would be an asset for them to do so. But Iâll always agree with anyoneâs decision to not accept terms. Thatâs their right. And in a digital world, itâs really the only one that matters.

For a character with 350+ mounts, like me, the storage for individual mount equipment slots for every mount (used or not) would be at pretty close (if not more than) to how much data Blizzard stores for our bags, bank, reagents, gear, transmog, gems and enchants.
Considering how reluctant they are to give us bigger bags⊠itâs clear they donât really want to dramatically allow us to become bigger data objects.
Yes to either and/or both.
ETA: sigh, Iâll get the hang of multi-inline quoting eventually. grr.
Lol, you should have seen the stuff thatâs been going on over at SecondLife since they started. Big ball of intellectual property, virtual currency, virtual ownership and other issues that went RL legal-wise in interesting ways.
1 - I hate having to use my waterstrider as my main mount.
2 - I hope they expand on this idea for cosmetic mount features or even slot feature to collect.
