Then with that,Why do the “work” rep.at all it is pointless. This is a demeaned way to the player base. that in fact, takes the purpose of the game to get anything.
My wife and I met on a religious forum years ago (we married in 2005).
Well, there was a lot of debate about various religions over there, and sometimes it would be a little heated.
I had a guy who was really getting nasty about a detail of some cult variant we were discussing. He starts literally calling me names so I told him to cool it or we’d have to get a moderator in there.
Turns out he WAS a moderator and had been baiting me into breaking the rules. When I mentioned going to his superiors he permabanned my account before I could even click out of the thread.
I HATE people who abuse their authority. HATE em.
Exactly.
if time investment isnt ‘work’ then we should all be ok if Blizzard just resets this ENTIRE expansion …whoops…and says we need to do it all over from scratch.
Aint no one here would be ok with that.
Which is why the proper term isn’t theft. It is Conversion. Herein described:
First, that the plaintiff owns or has the right to possess the personal property in question at the time of the interference;
Second, that the defendant intentionally interfered with the plaintiff’s personal property (sometimes also described as exercising “dominion and control” over it);
Third, that the interference deprived the plaintiff of possession or use of the personal property in question; and
Fourth, that the interference caused damages to the plaintiff.
In that first bullet point it clearly shows that there is no dependency on ownership. Simple contractual right to possess is all that is needed. In this case there exists an implied right to possess as the player has fulfilled all of the requirements to possess the item in question.
Following on to that we understand that if the above is true then all of the other elements having been met, the effect is CONVERSION.
Now you don’t have extra things “taking up space on your bars.” It’s almost as if the game already provided you with ways to deal with your space. Hmm.
Not to mention that they know full well that Im not talking about theft of physical property, but theft of ‘time’.
Labor is a commodity. It has value. Mine does to me.
Telling me if I spend my labor doing X and I will receive Y…then later taking Y away from me, redubbing it Z and making me labor for it again is absolutely theft of my time and energy…my labor.
Its absolutely deceptive practice and 100% guaranteed if someone did this in the real world instead of a game world without a ToS that says 'we can rip you off at any time", this would be both a criminal and a civil suit waiting to happen.
So people against the water strider are just making up a reason to get a mount with permanent water walking and it’s NOT so they can have one mount with water walking and every other mount with other mount powers? Which is literally why Blizzard is implementing this so all mounts stay relatively they same?
for thors sake.
I keep looking at this forum and at some other crap on my screen while Im doing a job for someone.
I just literally screwed up half an hours worth of work because I put something in the wrong place. $75 urinated away
The best way to keep the integrity of what players have already earned (while subjectively making the system RIDICULOUSLY BETTER) - is to make the equipment slots per mount, across an entire account.
This way when players get their water walking equipment in the mail - they can pop it right back into the strider and be exactly where they’re at now.
But would they stop there??? Likely not - because most players don’t “favorite” the strider mount. So they’d buy a handful of the WW equip and throw it on a couple of their favorite mounts. And what else??? - they’d buy a handful of the non-daze, movement speed, and parachute equipment as well so they could put those on a few other mounts in their collection.
All the while - this wouldn’t clog up bag space with a bunch of equipment that they have to swap out and sink gold into the more and more they leverage the “choices” they’ve been given.
Players also don’t have to buy back something they already have.
Then as they are traveling and come across the various terrain - they’ll have options and will be able to make choices about which mounts they use in the different circumstances they’re faced with.
Player agency. Player choice. Ability diversification. Mount variation. Bingo-bango.
Good point,so if proven.I do have one proof of this being i got the azerote gear set the talents i want going by the description which would give me the best dps possible on the gear ,used it works fine,ok.
Then without notice it is nerfed,go play on the character to find it doesn’t work any more and meters show something is wrong.Three days later there is a mention it was nerfed. Thanks blizzard.
but the real issue is these suggestions make too much sense and would be be widely acceptable by the majority of players, especially the veteran players, which is exactly why it will never be implemented. it seems to be the acceptable norm to just implement patches that modify aspects of this game to make it easier for the lazy players - does not matter in the least how many complaints or posts are posted against the changes.
actually, you neglected to mention that you worked for and PAID specifically for an ice cream maker that made French vanilla with real vanilla beans. It wasnt the best looking ice cream maker you could have worked and paid for, but none of the other ice cream makers on the market at the time made French Vanilla with real vanilla beans.
You were content with that ice cream maker until the day the manufacturer decided that, instead of making additional ice cream makers with variable flavors, he would just take your ice cream maker and re-purpose it to make generic vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. They fluff up the news of the change by saying that you can change the flavors at any time, but it would cost a small sum. Of course, for previous owners you get one flavor change for free, but it will be for generic vanilla without the real vanilla beans.
we have a plethora of ice cream makers, but only two have their own special flavors: striders with their French Vanilla bean and the Sky Golem with real strawberries. fortunately, the one with real strawberries gets to keep their flavor. the rest get the generic flavors.
i am also in the camp that after foresees the change being eliminated later on down the line. But would they give striders back their WW? will the skates, sea horses and sea turtles lose their swim speed boosts? do they get to use equipment? the skates already dismount when you get out of water which is annoying enough that i just use the sea turtle.
the more i think about the changes and the acceptance that is just a vehicle to slow down the player to inflate time played the more i get nudged over to the cancel button…like i did in WoD with flying only to come back late Legion. i missed literally all of Panda to play SWtOR and did for years. at leas this game has content which is the only reason i came back…causing me to take 20 minutes to get short distances around an obstacle course is not content.
Really? We’re gonna start comparing game mount functions with ice cream makers now? ROTF.
I guess I would be angry, if my vanilla ice cream maker was taken from me after I got it, used it for 3 years, and the manufacturer came and took it out of my house.
Then subbed it for the new one, sent me a bill for it if I let any of my family members of friends borrow it, and the ice cream the new one made tasted like icy, powdered milk with chemical flavoring…
……and they send me a letter telling me it was better than before… and by the way… if I decided to move away from the city I lived in…or I advanced in age…I’d have to buy the machine all over again.
Complaints about the ship not working on water is what probably filtered up to Ion and resulted in him waving his hand and saying “nerf striders and give them an inferior substitute that lets them make their boats float if they really really want it that badly. As long as the solution drives wow-token sales up, I don’t care. Make it so”
