Wait… um… you expect a water walking mount (or the shoes) to be handed to you for free?
Boy, you’re going to be disappointed come 8.2 AH prices…

Forget it; your little cover is blown. you made a choice; live with it. We who have the strider EARNED it, by gameplay; the dailies, the hours spent. Our choice, because we wanted it and the abilities it has.
Or had, if blizztard has its way.
As for you, you are a perfect example of everything wrong with too many entitled children these days.
In a game called WARcraft, you want things to be ‘fair’. Never.
You want what other have, because we have them. Never.
You don’t want to play content you personally think you shouldn’t yet still want the rewards from that content just handed to you?
Never.
Sits in the now-empty guild and looks upon the trophy-bedecked walls…and remembers
You do realize that the inflatable shoes that give you water walking in the new system are a consumable, right? And that each and every character you play will have to have them if you want them to water walk, right? And that the equipment is destroyed whenever you trade it out for a different ability, right? So you will have to be buying lots of equipment if you want to use any of it. (And since you don’t have a strider, you’ll have to buy the shoes at full price.)
a water walking mount that affects the content that I DO choose to do, you are complaining about cosmetics, I’m complaining about an actual ability that will affect future expansions
and it’s not just one small group benefitting, only half of the players in this game have the strider mount not “just one small aspect”
I assume you didn’t even read my post about balancing changes so you probably don’t care about the games actual fairness in pvp and endgame pve, but why argue for the cosmetic playerbase which this game is ONLY a timesink for?
I’m going to assume you don’t do endgame content and are only playing to collect colorful things, so I’m asking to you step out of this with your sarcasm
Blizzard just can’t help but run itself through a buzz saw every now and agian. Everytime they set their sights on removing something that players have earned – the biggest example is flying – they have their balls handed to them. Just don’t remove things players have earned. Period.
I’m not against mount gear. Totally cool. But the way it is being rolled out is indeed taking something away.
Again, just don’t take things players have earned away. Just make mount gear an addition. If a mount already has a built-in ability such as water walking, leave it and only have gear apply to those that don’t.
Of course, there is [another theory out there. And given Blizzard’s track record, I’m not sure she is wrong.

Remove spaces to follow.
Don’t argue with this person anymore.
They make no sense and are being contrary for contraries sake.
Just keeps on proving our points, does it?
Btw, I’m on an RP realm, so you are so totally wrong AGAIN.
Sips tea and then flips hair, for a nice change
I don’t really collect things no. You are a bad troll.
Cosmetics only?
So you never bought Reins of the Ashhide Mushan Beast or Vengeful Porcupette with all the Bloody Coins you farmed up?
I’m amazed. Even without trying i farmed a bunch of pets to sell, they’re quite valuable. But I guess I’m just naturally good at PvP even if I don’t bother with such silly sideshows.
Yea, kind of a good idea. I’ll just ignore from now on. nothing constructive is coming from it.
Thank you.
Hence Drug is clearly a troll. Was trying to trap them but they saw it and moved on. Oh well.

So what does that matter? Everyone would still be equal because everyone would get that equipment slot and everyone can get the water-strider if they want.
What you are not understanding/caring about is the fact that we are trying to save water-walking for the future. I could care less about the equipment slots. If I need an anti-dazing effect, I can buy one. If I want to jump off a mountain, I have my gliders, slow fall, and levitate.
I love the concept and would like to see it expanded, but I also understand how blizzard works. At some point those equipment slot tokens will become gray and will no longer work.
I do not want to lose something I have spent a lot of hours working for because you got owned by someone on a strider when PVPing.
Here is a cup of tea and some muffins to keep you company
Then you should have taken the time to get one if it’s that important to your game play style.
Edited to add: I say I don’t ever pvp but that isn’t entirely true. I have PVP’d in the past when it was necessary to get something I wanted. I still haven’t done that darn children’s week battleground thing, though. grumble grumble.
Nosir. I’m complaining about having functionality that I earned removed so that other folks can benefit cosmetically. I hate the look of the damn bug, but I like the way it functions so I use because of the way it works.
There’s no reason why Blizzard can’t satisfy both parties, except they’ve chosen not to because they’re more interested in handicapping all of us.
Uh, the game is a time sink for everyone. Nothing we do in game affects the real world for the majority of players. It’s all just entertainment.
To answer your question, though, my casual game play is every bit as important as your PVP game play and every bit as important as an end game raider’s game play because I pay the same subscription fee that everyone else does. shrug
+1 to all of this. <3
Not waiting for Vanilla at all. You told me to go do content without out like it was some great feat. I only responded to tell you that you have no idea what you are talking about.
Why are you so nasty and condescending? It’s people like you that make intelligent, healthy debates impossible.
Thank you, dear.
Enjoys the tea and muffins; so perfect for a luncheon appertif
That is actually a very well-written article. Maybe my trust level will let me link it directly: https://misdirections.wordpress.com/2019/04/17/this-may-be-the-line/
This paragraph I found especially insightful:
“Players may not realize the source of their dissatisfaction with the game, but they know they are no longer having fun. It is never really fun when at every turn you are required to do “one more thing” before you can get to the thing you want to do. There was a time in WoW when, if you loved raiding, you could pretty much just raid in the game. Or if you loved profession play, you could get to max level and make gold and have fun with that, without having to gear up enough to enter raids and dungeons, without having to grind out dailies/raids/M+ dungeons for ever-rarer soulbound mats just to make soulbound gear. Those days are gone, and with them the perception of player freedom.”
+1000
Well, that certainly sums up a lot of my dissatisfaction.
For years, I’ve only played WoW. It was a revelation to go into another game, want to do something, and…just be able to do it. No hoops to jump through. Just going to do the thing I wanted to do.
