Ah. Except the water strider is not strictly cosmetic, and only provides an advantage to the PVE side of the game where someone is either:

1. Not willing to work on the Anglers rep
2. Not willing to create or purchase the pots needed to water-walk

So, if anything any sarcastic examples will be even more apt than what you claim is unfair.

Sounds like you needed more warlocks involved in your protest.

I got so tired of hearing the warlock steed scream “Screeeeeeeeaeaeae!!” every time I mounted that I stopped using it. Didn’t even notice it care when the glyph went away because I had my super unfair and tots-op pve-only water striders.

Why don’t you go do 3 dailies for a month, or 15 days if you have the MoP bonus rep and get it yourself! It’s not hard! Lazy lazy lazy.

The only people who love this idea are people who never had the mount in the first place.

I’m not familiar with hunters walker walking ability, but that class list used to be warlocks, and I would not oppose all of those abilities being removed since mine was removed, but I recognize that as of now it is part of the class design
the potions aren’t permanent so yes, the strider is overpowered to it

please reiterate how you think a water walking mount isn’t overpowered in a game where movement is key to endgame content

Because every, yes every mount in the game can walk on water right now at any time, you just have to work for it. Just like i worked for my water strider.

A short period of time in Draenor doing some fishing and you’d have enough mats to make a boat load of those potions. If you don’t want to ride the Strider, or don’t want to farm it, that’s fine. Stop pretending it lets me do things that you can’t do otherwise, because it’s patently false.

Holy smokes I feel the same way about the Monk mount and his inane banter. Blizzard should just give that tiger to everyone so they can not use it too.

You know… I think it would solve all of your problems about fair things in the game if they would just make everyone and every class an NPC. This way we could all be relieved that there would be nothing unique about anything in the game, and Blizzard could control or gate every aspect of play because of fairness.

Classes would be balanced forever.

We could all enjoy a giant gruelly soup of non-uniqueness and all have equal amounts of Ion’s fun.

the pvp mounts don’t give you an advantage in achieving anything, your rep farm mount does give an advantage in pvp which is unfair

Oh wait… That requires you to do rep grinding pve content too. So I guess you won’t have that advantage either.

the pots needed take up bag space, and can multiply many times over the course of an expansion, which is why this change is needed for balanced gameplay

Hopefully you are willing to buy stacks of the shoes from crafters that will charge you WAY more than 40g for it. When you see them hit the AH for 3500g each and you finally realize they are DESTROYED when you replace it with another piece of equipment…you might be willing to get the rep.

And before they nerf the TW method, you best start on that!

because that’s not what I’m subscribed for and shouldn’t be required to do. Of course it’s not hard, nothing that requires time or farming is “hard” it is just mundane and not something that I enjoy, which isn’t laziness

I’d prefer Blizzard ban the use of the word “toxic” on the forums as opposed to messing around with the way mounts work.

I’d settle for them letting us mount up while bogusly “stuck in combat”. Grrr do I hate that.
