it’s unfair to force a pvper to do rep farm content from expansions ago
rep farming isn’t viewed as “earning” it, it is more of a punishment that one has to endure
People that want to take stuff away from people that earned it, and could themselves but won’t honestly deserved to be - belittled, taking stuff away we have because you can’t be bother to earn it is a crap/rotten thing to do.

If you are referring to BGs, the water strider is disabled in BGs. I do have to admit that I am not sure if this is true in Warmode
what’s unfair is that I had a minor glyph for water walking as a warlock and they removed that, where was the outcry???
Its unfair there are things outside pvp that give rewards?

There are PVP mounts I would like but I don’t like PVP so I don’t have them and that is fair. If you want it bad enough do the content. You like choice so much, there it is for you.

This is what I run into when I argue for having ALL races available at the character selection screen. Then the race-gating elitists come in and say that not everything should be available to everyone, which I usually just counter with “Well it’s a race, and it seems like it would bring new and returning players back if they had the option…”
It’s too bad that mounts and races are totally different things though. Anywhoooooooooo.
I still don’t get why they can’t just exclude the Water-Strider from their meaningless change. Give everyone the token or whatever. Just leave the old mount alone. That way literally nothing changes like the other guy said.
Very well written response. Thank you for writing it. It is exactly what we are worried about. We have seen this company use this method to remove things from the game before. We know that they will do it again. And we know they hate the water-strider’s water walking ability.
It has nothing to do with mount equipment and none of us who are concerned care if the strider is exempt from that equipment. We just want it to remain as is.

I don’t know about that one, but I was pretty upset when glyphs in general were removed and I couldn’t glyph into a stronger solo world content build on my hunters then had neutered versions of some of the glyphs locked behind AP grind on the Artifact or given carte blanche to other specs.
Blizzard shouldn’t make major changes to the baseline game in order to nerf exploits in eSports that have less viewers and fractions of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of subscribers competing in.
Will suck to be you when Blizzard reinstates the reputation level lock on the Angler’s vendor for 8.2 hitting Live then.
40g is most likely a placeholder for the PTR because higher prices would impede testing. Also the vendor price will probably be relatively high to balance out the probable AH price for the 2 crafted equipment items.
You know you can run MoP Timewalking dungeons for a night or two and use the currency to buy rep tokens right? You don’t have to do MoP dailies or fish.
You have a mount who’s literal name equates to walking on water, which has walked on water for 7 years, which has allowed every alt new or old (including allied races) to walk on water from level 20 onward that is suddenly losing that ability with the caveat that you can purchase the equipment at a discount from the Angler’s vendor.
So all that work doing dailies and fishing then spending $5,000 gold wasn’t enough. Now you’ll be buying it back for every alt under level 100 or new Allied Race character for whatever the price ends up being on Live.

Fair price – FREE!! We worked for a mount to have the water walking ability. That is what it does. We paid for the mount after we earned the rep. Why should I once again pay for an item to restore what the mount was marketed to do? I am not an idiot! Nothing else is considered Fair Price here!

Alts having same as main character – Umm when it comes to mounts YES! Why should my alts suffer for use of a mount? My alts use the water strider mount for leveling and more. Sorry but this isnt like a profession item that only benefits one toon and thus you dont need across account. This is entirely different!
How often do I use the water strider? It is on my mount bar for ALL my alts. I use it daily whether they are questing low level areas or they are doing end game. It is a regular mount in my toon rotation.
Also rather than trying to estimate costs and time etc … why not just reverse this decision and treat the water strider mounts like the Sky Golem? That is all players are asking for so stop asking us questions to try to get us to change our minds.
We pay for a subscription to this game. We run rep for mounts and more based on how they enter the game and what they offer. You offered us water striders in MOP. You advertised them as an ability mount. You got us to spend time and effort to earn them. You then got us to pay for the mount. Stop taking our hard earned achievement away and asking us to sink more gold into an item to “restore” what the mount was originally intended for!!
Reverse this decision now! Blizzard was a company who often listened to its player base. Tell Activision we will still continue to voice our feedback, and sorry but nothing they can do will justify this change. Treat the water striders like the Sky Golem! End of discussion!

so blizz should just stop making expansions? because all the ilvls you earned in bfa will be null and taken away from you with 9.0
would you like an feat of strength for it? I don’t get why you want an advantage over people who want a fair and balanced game
it’s a toxic mindset to be given an advantage in a part of the game that is not at all relatable to another part of the game
No I want them to leave my mount alone, give you the token and allow us that already have the strider to have the same 3 options everyone else does.

Careful, dont talk too loudly or your water strider pets may also forget how to help you walk on water. Nat Pagle already did it to the rest in the ptr.
