exactly you’re not crying about that, you’re crying that they’re making you adapt to the new meta which will change over the course of many years to come as it has for many years
the change is fair and just
Not even close to the anti choice option, those can use the strider that want to, and you can pay to use whatever mount you want.
Seems cut and dry there.
Like pathfinder, legacy loot rules, phased-portals that you can only use if Blizzard deems you worthy, missing legendary quests, missing class epic quests, scaled world quests instead of dailies in an unscaled world, multi-RNG spins for a single drop.
Yes. Clearly the game has gotten better. /sarc
“Fair” to take something away and then make you pay for it, not sure you know what fair means.
I don’t mind that they are implementing the new system. I really don’t.
I mind that they are taking away something I’ve already worked on, spent alot of time obtaining, just to sell it back to me.
Keep the new mount system, although I will say it’s a little scary because god knows what changes they’ll make in 9.0 to it.
Just, leave the strider alone, as is, no extra nothing. just… let it stay the way it is. Taking away it’s ability is an unnecessary change. And frankly seems just spiteful on their part.
if it makes perfect since why aren’t you on board? do you consider yourself superior to newcomers in a way that is toxic?
That of which I highlighted does not even work at the moment.

I mean, I’m not talking about those systems. I’m just talking about mounts.

Your the one that wants people to pay for something we already have, you said your too lazy to get, might want to think again about that toxic part…

But whether or not it works or is fun isn’t relevant. Blizzard’s intention is all that matters.
They intend you to have fun. They intend you to FEEL as though the world is larger. They intend you to think Azerite armor is the bestest system ever.
Their noble intentions is all that matters. Never-mind anything that actually worked in the past, or made the game fun.
most of what you commented is a net benefit to the game imo
fair to take an unfair advantage away? yes of course
Just, leave the strider alone, as is, no extra nothing. just… let it stay the way it is. Taking away it’s ability is an unnecessary change. And frankly seems just spiteful on their part.
I disagree. Wholeheartedly.
The only thing leaving it alone would do would mean that from 1-20 the only mount worth using is the Water Strider. That runs counter to the entire reason this system is getting added-- player choice.
Wow someone is up on their high horse this morning.
Just one other thing to note is that I believe the BoA water shoes on the Anglers vendor is supposed to require the Anglers reputation to be purchased as well. So while it is changing a bit you will have access to the water walking more readily than those who haven’t done it at all. Also, I expect the other items (anti daze, etc.) to cost a fair amount more than 40g.
If this is true, those without the rep still will not benefit from the 40g price. We would then not know just how much it might cost without it.
But I suppose we will know when they decide to update things to reflect this.
fair to take an unfair advantage away? yes of course
what’s unfair, people can’t go earn it still?
Hmmm wonder of all the “this is great” comments are going to change with this little tidbit
I’m sorry wait what? you can’t use the strider or any ride from levels 1-20???
I want you to do the content when your mount gets nerfed if you want to keep the same experience, which is in itself new and exciting
laziness does not equate to toxicity, but belittling people without the strider and wanting a new change by calling them lazy does
I mean, I’m not talking about those systems. I’m just talking about mounts.
Fair. Keep in mind that once they control the tokens, they control what your mounts can do from zone to zone, xpack to xpack. They’re removing the binary “Does it do X when it’s summoned” and replacing it with:
- Is it ground or flying
- Does it have equipment slot
- Is equipment slot used
- Does player have ________ achievement or rep to equip necessary token
- Is equipment slot bonus available in current zone
Once the system is in place, it’s not a stretch to imagine a time where you log on a level 35 alt and find the equipment slot red because the equipped equipment is too ________ for your alt.
It’s so weird that people who actually play this game can’t see what Blizzard is doing to the game. Not you, obviously, but all the rest.
