No they are correct, their reward is a thing in the mail worth 40 gold (instead of the current use on any toon that can ride) with the need to pay 40 gold for any alts they want to have waterwalking on in the future (what we’ve been doing for free for years).

I have (that would vanish if this change goes though) an mount I could use on any alt that had a riding skill to walk on water for free.

in exchange we get a item that would let one toon water walk for free… *and have to play 40 gold to keep the part where the alts can ride it on water… (so in effect for that work I get a crapper item that’s worth 40 gold for all that work)

Just wait until they say, “We heard you over the water striders so to keep your pitiful nostalgia, we will make sure that you lose the water walking ability every time you take damage while mounted. But good news! we will lower the cost of the equipment by 1g!”

So you admit, you got a waterwalking mount that worked for years. I’m not saying the change is good or bad, I’m just saying you were rewarded from the rep grind, not with 40g, but with a mount that waterwalked for years, and 40g. It’s important that people give intelligent feedback, not incoherent blabbering like “i did this rep grind back in mop for a freee 40g!”. But i guess we cant ask that much of lfr players.

I will check but my personal opinion from my play experience is that the water strider ability is just much stronger than the sky golem herbing.

How do you measure “strength”?

If you’re giving everyone the ability to have water walking through equipment - how are you “regulating” the “power level” of water walking use?

Can you elaborate on this - because right now it doesn’t seem to make sense and the system on the PTR seems to contradict your personal opinion.

I’m not saying just sinking. I mean losing the equipment and needing to replace. If that’s what they’re doing on PTR already, I can’t say I am surprised.

Crimson Water Strider-only owners are out of luck and will lose time/gold to get back what was taken from them

Mounts… their big change concerns mounts… really Ion?

Who cares about mounts? You created them, gave them abilities… now it is a problem? How many years later?

I am now on the side of folks who believe this company is headed in the wrong direction and with leaders like Ion allowing/making these decisions, it won’t be long before WoW is a FTP dying game.

Having to pay ANYTHING to get something back that we’ve already earned is a HUGE con and I think is at the root of a bulk of the raw negative reaction we’ve been seeing. It’s what’s making us feel cheated and is causing the feeling of a breach of trust.

Ahh, yeah, you don’t loose the equipment, but it’s still subject to ALL the same bugs WW is currently subject too.

Nibbled by a fish = Swimming. Dismounting and having to resummons the mount to regain WW. WW not working with certain mounts as they can’t jump high enough out of the water to get back onto the ‘surface’ (looking at you Direhorns) same as PoF.
