Well, actually, I am.
I don’t want it on all my mounts, just some of them… I drank my kaja’cola… And I still can’t figure out why blizzard acts like it’s a completely “unreasonable” idea.

No, but all your toons should start with it already socketed but you don’t get a discount if you change it.
They do get their first one on the house. Personally, I don’t think I’ll ever take the water walking off of it.
I’m sure we’ll get mounts like this in the next expansion. This is the team that made WoD after all so you shouldn’t expect much from them.

Yeah, otherwise, it just ends up being the same again. Everyone only has to choose between parachute and anti daze, because we’d all just ride the bug to walk on water.

I’d think that someone such as yourself who truly cares about how their mounts look over functionality would buy the boots anyway.
But if your point is that they won’t be able to force us to use their new gold sink? You’re right. But they could also retire the strider so that people who newly gain the rep could only buy the boots. They’ve done this with other mounts and items.

What levels did you make? Did you make one lower than 100?
I made a few 20 level characters and none of them got it.
No, I’m too logical for that. My point is that we’d all go riding around on bugs and only have to choose between having anti daze or a parachute (for now). Hopefully the system will grow to include even more cool things to help people individualize their choices even further.
No, what I actually SAID was “You have no right to disregard those who feel they shouldn’t have to pay anything, for what they already worked for, received, and have been using for years.”
…but I apologize for using the word ‘you’, when I meant the general form of those who are mocking the opposition of having to pay, even a small amount, for what we already have.

Yeah 7 years of having to ride the ugly bug… thank Bwonsamdi that’s almost behind me forever.
2 of the characters I copied go one each. One with the rep, and one without.
I then made a new void elf and headed to a mailbox (not to dance on it) and there was no item.
I wonder if this is working as intended…
Only your toons that are 100 and up get a free one. But, the thing from Nat is BoA and at lvl 20 can be used on your alts.
Well I wish it was per-mount since I actually like the water-strider and not just because it walks on water. It’s unique in other ways to me and doesn’t just look like a rebranded horse or goat.

Then just use the boots and ride on it, it will still work like it always has. However, you now have an option to switch out its abilities for different ones if they fit your play style better.
That’s one way to give a reason why water striders can’t walk on water anymore 
a cheesy one at that
