Water Strider Discussion

Why are you responding to a game you don’t care about and to a person who doesn’t exist.

Great logic.

Just go away.

You make me laugh.

Thank you, Bornakk. Even though I don’t like having to buy something that I can already use now. At least, this price (is reasonable for a non-horder of gold like myself can afford for all my almost 49 alts :joy:) and able to mail it to my alts helps.

Well, you know which one that I’m picking for all my toons.

ADDED: Bornakk, can you find out that by mailing to alts does this almost mean I can mail this to my Horde alts, too.

When I was on the PTR earlier, Nat Pagle, in MoP’s Karasong Wilds at the Anglers Wharf, is the only vendor selling the BoA version of the water walking mount item. I could not get into my garrison as it kept returning “Instance Not Found” when I tried hearthing there. It is possible he also sells it there next to the fishing shack if you have that rep. I’ll try to check later to see if I can access my garrison.

I did not see anything for the mount equipment in the garrison when I went there earlier today, so the Angler vendor will be the only vendor it seems.

we were told players could obtain them from the vendors where they purchased their mounts.
…which means the Crimson owners should be able to purchase from Nat in Draenor.

…where is the “no longer” part coming from?
Weren’t the “inflatable mount shoes” meant to be a crafted item?

Has anyone looked into the craftable items yet?

Yes, that seems logical to me, but like I said, I couldn’t access my garrison at the time.

I think they may have changed the name of the BoA item to be something different than what will be the standard name of the non-BoA item.

We shouldn’t have to pay ANYTHING to get back what we’ve had account-wide for YEARS. Doesn’t matter if it’s one single COPPER.

Are you saying, since they made crap decisions before it’s on to make crap decisions now?

makes sense, items and abilities which serve the same purpose often have different names, regardless of their source.

i don’t view that as a “change” though… it’s not different from what we were told.

it was stated that there would be craftable ones named Inflatable Mount Shoes.

Now if only the devs would, too…

Yeah, and I’d hate to be the one that had to buy that version versus the rep version I were going to buy any more.
I’m able to access my garrison now, but I’ve rolled through 8 or so alts and can’t find the one who bought the crimson strider. Just goes to show that it’s sometimes best to consolidate your in-game activities into one character.

What is more useful or have more utility?
Water walk, no-daze, or parachute?

For me could be either no-daze or parachute, why? Because I already have a water walking mount… oh wait, they took that off me, a mount I worked for and payed gold for.

Now I’ll have to change ALL my mounts to water walk in order to cross a lake (yes, that’s the only time one could use that ability), then change again if I want to do something else… … … just let the Water Strider alone. Pls.

I checked this earlier on my character that purchased the crimson one, there is no equipment to be bought at the garrison

Good to know.
Thank you.
But now I’m in a dilemma of not being able to find which character gained the WoD rep to get the crimson strider I ride. My only thought is that it was a character that faction transferred, and that the rep in garrisons do not completely transfer over. That I do not know. But if that’s the case, then it’s actually the same character that achieved the angler’s rep, because it’s showing 40G for the selling price from Nat in Karasong.

If we have to remember who actually bought the mounts, that’s going to be a problem for altoholics like me with 50 possibilities to sift through.

Yeah, I might have to start a danged 'ol spreadsheet.

Thanks Bornakk.

I’ll try to tone down my usual goblin-snark here.

I’m really bummed about losing the cost-free freedom to choose between a water walking mount and a regular mount.

I guess if I don’t want inflatable mount shoes to automatically enable water walking every time I mount up, I’ll have to make Sky Golem my default mount for everything else… so that I don’t forget and kill myself by leaping down onto HARD WATER accidentally.

Please, if you’re keeping count, put me down as another that would be much happier with this change if you allowed the water striders ability to be grandfathered in exactly like the Sky Golem’s.

well this is bad, and goes against the grain of what was announced.

do you have one or both striders?
i want to know if players who only own Crimson can access the item from the Anglers.

This is not even making any sense at this point.

If that’s the case, it’ll mean players need to go to Pandaria, to use their Draenor mount in BFA.
