I earned the water strider because it was a water walking mount and it now correctly works for all my characters just like all other mounts.
They are taking away it’s innate abillity and the reason thousands worked for it. In exchange they are making a piece of equipment with 3 choices on it, water walking, non-daze and a parachute. They are sending one free pair of water boots to those who have the strider so they can regain water walking.
The boots are for a single charater. Other toons will now pay for what was an innate ability.
IF I choose to regain water walking on a mount whose purpose in game WAS water walking, I lose the ability to choose one of the others.
Those with water striders are being penalized. I have no issue with giving others water walking just leave the strider alone and let me have 3 choices as well.
If you left the 2 Water Striders alone and the way that they were originally intended to be, you wouldn’t have this much of a pushback.
You could still have your little cash grab by selling those BoA items from the Anglers. The people who want to water walk on their other mounts would still have that freedom to do so and the people who don’t care about all that can still just use the mounts that they earned.
Instead, this just looks like one huge **** *** to the players and a giant cash grab.
So what is your beef with easy travel? We had that in TBC, WoTLK and Cata and those were the most subscribed expansions of all time for WoW. You seriously need to re-examine the choices that you are making with the game.
I am also in the service industry and there is one constant that I know that never changes. Companies that do not treat their customers right, do not keep those customers.
Well, I can see the “new” mounts in the data dump from Wowhead and the “this mount can walk on water” blurb is gone in the new version. So at least we know they are going through with it for now.
What is Blizzard’s primary focus does not matter to the intended player or players. They can design and create whatever they chose to put in the game or take out of the game. That does not mean that the player(s) are simply going to rollover and do or take what Blizzard themselves choose to give or take. So in that regards, it really does not matter what the primary focus is or was or intended to be. This going down this rabbit hole is getting off the entire topic of the original discussion here. The problem here is one of Blizzard’s own making that they are trying to remedy with another problem all by its own self. Instead of actually fixing the problems and issues of their own creation.
Warcraft was designed as a casual, fun MMORPG to cater to all types of players who were put off by the more demanding and linear content of other MMOs of that time.
Despite the urge of some to limit this game to it’s cheapest element, mythic+s, you can’t say the huge variety of things to do in this game is not intentional, or is not meant to attract players interested in those areas.
It’s a company, not a charity. They do what they believe will increase their income.
Free with one or the other, you mean? 40g means i have 40 less gold than I did before and if i need a stack for each alt, since I need to deal with this system indefinitely, and i have 10 characters…it’s 8,000 gold.
