Yep! Can’t let the player make any meaningful decision. What if they’re… * gasp * wrong?
The farther WoW stays away from that trash game, the better.

What I want to know from Blizzard is
Why should I put my Time and MONEY into a game, if the makers of said game can take anything I have earned away from me at any time they liked.
Why should I play a game where anything I do has absolutely ZERO future value and makes anything I do worth nothing.
Considering WoW doesnt release sub numbers it can only be subjective on which game is trash compared to the other. FFXIV seems pretty healthy right now, to be honest.
Is WoW a MMORPG? Legit question because tell these current devs to go make their own game and leave WoW alone.
Do you feel that you should take away what you have promised to players? people grind for Water strider back then, not water strider and a single boots enchant. How is this an issue all of a sudden?
So whats the fantasy of the Water Strider losing its ability?
I’m just talking from experience, having played it. Numbers aren’t really relevant.
Fortnite might have more players than WoW, but let’s not pretend that means WoW should be made more like Fortnite.
8.3 and 9.0 are definitely going to feature lots of water hazards to convenient travel. Thus adding equipment that can be removed or locked to specific areas or patches or require continual hoops (see flying) to reattain.
All to increase DAU and MAU metrics.
oh im not trying to attack you here, just chit chatting. Fortnite is a separate genre though, if WoW was going to blend in another genre it better well be its own RTS games.
I agree.
I have no idea why anyone would think their ability is ‘stronger’ or would need nerfing at all.
Honestly if they think waterwalking is so overpowered why would they allow any classes to have the ability? Why allow all mounts to have this option with new equipment??
After 8.2 drops Live, the mount and mobs will be renamed “Water Bugs” and the hunter pet version will no longer have it’s bonus either.
Acocunt bound items are by definition free to all your characters once unlocked. More confirmation that the devs don’t play their own game haha.
April fools was more than two weeks ago. This is not funny anymore.
Maybe a good solution would be to make WW the Default mount ability for all a persons mounts once they unlock one of the strider mounts, and if they would rather have one of the other abilities they can use the mount equipment which will cancel out the default (WW) ability while it is equipped.
This will:
Make WW account wide, as it is now after doing one of the two strider grinds
Enable classes that have WW spells to have the option to use some other equipment.
Enable the strider grinders to still feel like the grind was worthwhile.
Enable bliz to allow people to use different mounts to WW without the “double dipping” problem
So no fantasy, just petty nerfs.
So well said, it is loathsome indeed. Shame on Acti-Blizzard for this stupidity.
Because leveling through the story and gear matter… besides what would your gear even begin to be like changing from Warrior to Mage to Hunter? You can’t possibly believe that filling a bar to complete a reputation or a level of fishing is just as fulfilling the 8th time as the 1st.
Realistically it would mean that those low level gear pieces locked behind reputation walls would be more readily available. With Paragon boxes it makes it worth while to level an alt… maybe finally get a toy.
For professions it means that the BoP crafting items can always be used… you did the work… you should be able to do something with it. It doesn’t lessen the amount of content… it actually means seeing some progress for actually doing the content.
Doesn’t’ happen.
And if it did…it’s no one’s business but our own on what mounts we use. Don’t look if you have a problem with it.
Mounts be able to do what they jolly well can do based on their real world counterparts own innate abilities!
Hippos and basilisks swim at mount speed.
Hovering mounts water walk.
Swimming mounts swim at mount speed.
Flying mounts glide when flying is restricted (or stop restricting flight).
Armored mounts prevent daze. (Or ditch the daze mechanic.)
BTW: Parachutes are a downgrade over gliders which allow you some control over where you land.
Fair enough.
My point is that just because a feature exists in another game, that doesn’t mean it should exist in this one, even if it’s popular in the other game. It ignores the possibility that some people play this game because that feature isn’t in it.
Yes this was not my issue though, i know that.
a popularity is showing that they dislike current class design/gearing, especially towards PvP would you explain me why Blizzard is ignoring such core things?
It seems like the majority is brainwashed usually there should be everyday a thread with the same popularity like this one, but about core things and not small things like water strider. But many people are quite strict delusional (no offense) and are ignoring such important things which will cause the end of PvP for example pretty soon.
I can understand the roar behind water striders but it isn’t deserved in it’s popularity.
