I’m saying I don’t think that is correct. Crafted by who? ALL focus has been on Anglers rep and the discount for people who already have the mount.

However, to make the strider not be a compulsory mount and also to not make the inflatable shoes useless for those players, Blizzard should make the inflatable shoes not break upon taking damage.

The inflatable shoes will break on damage? They just became 100x more useless.

We assume so. That’s how the strider works, that’s how the WW class abilities work, and it’s how WW potions work. Why would they change now? Player convenience? I think not.

Leave the Water Strider ALONE. People who don’t have the water strider can go and purchase/craft the water walking equipment and stop complaining because they don’t want to put in the effort to get the water strider.

There is ZERO cost that would be fair for people who have the water strider, nor should we EVER have to visit the damn vendor which is also a cost even if the item is free (still have to waste your time going there).

When will I use it…

Once I can fly - never

<5% of the time when I can’t fly. My most used mount is Headless Horseman, easily >90% of the time on all my toons.

Bottom line, Blizzard is just wasting more of our time.

Why is it so hard for Blizzard to understand we want to play the game 60 minutes out of 60 minutes, not 50 minutes out of 60 while we spend 10 minutes traveling.

King’s Rest is a great example for Alliance, that’s literally 5 minutes of time to reach. Another good example, most mountains, you can easily spend 5 minutes getting to other side of one. Blizzard calls that immersion, all I am is PISSED off when can finally do what I wanted to.

I think this is a good point actually. Since the water walking mount is tied to a rep gain, then clearly only that one character that did the rep grind should get to use the mount. Allowing all characters was a bonus… but yet… not a single Thank You to Blizz for it. Just more entitlement and hostility as usual.

That takes more work for them though because they would need to look at every mount currently available and all future mounts.

Half the mounts are palette shifts of other ones, so it wouldn’t be too onerous.

This could be me misunderstanding the word “break” in the other post.

I read it as “break and require re-application of a fresh 800 gold set of inflatable shoes” (as in, destroyed) rather than “break” the way the water strider currently works (water-walking-effect ends, you splash down into swimming-mode, either fight the mob or run away, and then can re-mount and have water walking restored).

I earned both of my water walking mounts the “hard” way. No timewalking rep. I use those mounts on all my alts. I also use it on my main in Island Expeditions and areas with a lot of water. I do enjoy them and do not think they are ugly.

I do not mind the equipment for other players that do not want to grind for those mounts. However, please leave them alone for people that already have them.

Are you trying to make it harder and less enjoyable to quest on land? I can currently use my WW mount and barding. This is great for running around farming.

My other concern with this mount equipment is, will this be for this expansion only? Will I have to buy it every couple years? Or will it get tied into pathfinder in the future?

We know you don’t like flying and I guess you don’t like water walking either? Please stop making it hard to enjoy this game I have been playing since Vanilla. My husband rarely plays it now and some of friends have already quit.

Why do you change things that are not asked for? I rather see you fix the problems and not make more.

I honestly think if they just grandfathered in the water striders and made it exempt from equipment there wouldn’t be any problems.

I can’t do anything other than provide the data that’s out there by reputable sources. Every source I’ve checked has said that they will be crafted, and as a nod to those that did the rep for the mount here’s a bonus, you can buy off the vendor after your free one.

If you want to tilt at windmills be my guest. PTR is today and we’ll see what mess this really is.

You get one free, but the items are consumed on use and are used at the character level, so if you have more than one character, you have to buy more from the vendor and send them to your alts. Using the water walking mount equipment item means you can’t benefit from any other mount equipment items.

They’re talking about if they were to change the system, so instead of it being one equipment slot per character that affects all mounts, it’s on equipment slot per mount but it’s account wide. So, I get my water walking equipment mailed to the toon that got the Anglers rep, he then puts it on the strider, and now the strider is water walking on every character. Then I can go buy more if I want to make my boat water walking, or my wolf water walking, etc.

Ironically, it would actually make MORE grinding necessary, as I would need to put equipment on literally hundreds of mounts if I wanted them all to benefit, but it would let me actually choose how to play.

this really all comes down to Blizz wanting to time gate everything. Slow us down in world as much as possible to keep us in game when in fact it does the very opposite.

The LAST thing I want to do is waste my time getting from point a to point b in the slowest way possible.

You know what that will do? That will make me log off, exit blizz, and go do something else, too frustrated to come for days/weeks/months on end.
