The barding says it is usable in Zuldazar and Kul Tiras. So it will be useless in 8.2 zones.
Of course, the first thing I’d do is transmog my Lumber Extractor to look like the Fathom Dweller so I could fly around on it and my Sky Golem to look like the Darkmoon Skate so I can actually SEE the plants under the mount to click them.
I like the way you think, sir.
The barding says it is usable in Zuldazar and Kul Tiras. So it will be useless in 8.2 zones.
Yep, same with stirrups. Blizzard is timing this perfectly to make sure we can’t double up but also won’t realize what we’re missing until it’s too late.
silly. Getting angry because people are just sure they’re going to remove bardings and gliders from the game when 8.2 drops with no proof is silly.

Oh look Cloonboom… we’re already half way there.
But yeah, gliders will be with us until AT LEAST 9.0. After all that was one of the ‘AWESOME THINGS’ about Dazor’alor was base jumping off the pink pyramid. Over. and over. and overandoverandoverandoverandoverandoverandoverandoverandover.
Gave him a like on your behalf
I will absolutely be giving negative feedback about that particular part of the change if the cost is outrageous.
1 copper is an outrageous cost to pay for something that’s already mine. And again, how about those who got the Crimson Water Strider in Legion but didn’t farm MoP Anglers rep? Will they get a free set of shoes and a discount? What about those of us who farmed both? Will we get two sets and double the discount? How about we get none of that and they leave our effing mounts alone?
So i guess if waterwalking is going bye bye… Dose that mean swimming flying herbing ah-vendoring and other speical things will also need equipment? Image buying a 5mil mount and losing its uses then having to paying over and over again to get them back… This mount is being targeted because its useful to players simple as that! and Doesn’t work with there systems lets be honest… we don’t care about your systems just make the game we want and not stuff we didn’t ask for!
Off topic, but I’m cranky.
I have 402 mounts… but I’m still 46 mounts short of the requirement for the “400 mounts usable by a single character” reward.
Since Blizzard is in the process of making everything all the same for everyone, how about dropping some of those class/profession mount restrictions to sweeten this sour pill.
The compensation shows Blizzard at least tries to care, but everything else shows they either don’t understand or don’t care much.
I’m sorry people weren’t riding your recolors, and in a new expansion that finally has new mounts, still aren’t riding those, but please get over it if you think (1) it needs to get fixed and (2) this is how to fix it.
What if I like another mount equipment? Am I just SOL for having already earned this waterwalking mount? Do you care?
Yes, there was the hozen helmet
Nat Pagle’s fishing raft was way better, though you needed to bet Nat’s Best Friend for him to sell it to you (I know, some friend, it should be a gift if I’m your BFF, right?)
btw I would like point out as well blizzard is limited post to 3 on this subject so really don’t care what we say because there going do what want when they want and if we don’t like it tough that is wow now. Blizzards ways Give us something cool and take it away later!
Read my post previous to yours again (the one where you got your ideas for new items from). There I presented three options, all of them better than this one, specially the first one, and they involve playing through content to get the rewards. I know, what a weird idea; playing through a game to get game rewards sounds too controversial, but I think they have the pull to manage that, don’t you?

clearly that show how much they care

Five Million Gold when that mount was introduced was almost US$500 in WoW-Tokens.
As long as metrics show people buying the brutosaur sometime after buying wow-tokens, they won’t dare touch it.
And to make sure it would sell a lot of tokens, they took that functionality away from the Armory app.
(note that last line)
contradicts
(there will be one available via Anglers reputation that will be bind-on-account)
Until clarified or seen on PTR I would go with the Kaivax version.
Why have a reduced cost version as a bonus for Exalted with Anglers when you can just pick up Leatherworking or whatever on an alt and craft them?
If that character who earned the reputation and mount has the option to water walk (but might choose something else), do you feel that alts should have every single thing that the other characters have?
That’s exactly how mounts and toys work right now. Earn them once, they are earned across your account. Which was changed ages ago from being per character.
So yes, if Blizzard decided it was better for mounts, with their inherent functionality, to be available on the account level why should that change? Particularly since Blizzard changed reputations to account level too.
Do people at Irvine not talk to each other or play the game?
That was a weird way to quote the Blizzard quote I quoted
But yeah, I agree, I’d like the equipment to function like that. Adds a level of RPG back with a choice for players.
If they do it this way the strider or any other unique mount shouldn’t be nerfed.
It boils down to
- being able to restrict how players approach content
- being lazy
2a) they already have the mount tab so making a slot to add equipment to all your unlocked mounts is way easier than going through every mount in game (since mounts don’t have “families” like hunter pets) and attaching glide to every winged mount, mount speed to water going mounts like hippos, etc
That was a weird way to quote the Blizzard quote I quoted
Yeah, the new forums are weird with quotes! Sorry!
It happens, responding on the forums on a phone is a struggle sometimes.
what would a fair price be for the alts to get it?
FREE. I’ve already paid with time and effort to get exalted with The Anglers and paid gold for it knowing it was gonna be account-wide, so all my alts would have it. Also, I don’t see the inconvenience of dismounting and remounting to use the water strider, my shaman gets dismounted when casting Water Walking and have to remount, what’s the difference to remount the same mount or the strider?? Dks can cast Path of Frost without dismounting, but shamans can’t. And the inflatable shoes will be as mandatory as today is the strider, making the other two mounts equipment trivial because only dks will choose those. Why don’t make them like the essences that once learned you can swap equipments whenever you want.
Not to be rude, but I get this mental image of Ion stuck in the middle of a crosswalk, unsure which side to go to.
LEFT: Systematically crush all ties and perks from legacy content one by one. Close off access. Make anyone that wants to go there go through the Faction Capital, and take forever doing it.
RIGHT: send people back to the legacy areas for micro-holidays, for Island Reward turn-ins, new achievements (raiding with leashes), new main-story-line quests, for mount equipment, for glider components, for Sky Golem components, for Drums (fury or mountain).
LEFT: treat every new expansion like a completely new and separate game
RIGHT: integrate new expansions with the legacy and continuity of the World of Warcraft over the last decade and a half.
It’s like both hands know what the other is doing… one is trying to hold on, the other is trying to chop it off.
