the very basic and common sense metric that any player playing the game would understand of DPS, survivability, or utility gap. I.e. if resto shaman did 1/4th the healing of any other class, no one would want to play it. It doesnt have enough other value to justify doing no healing. Tanks and healers dont need massive damage because they tank and heal. Arms is made of paper and can’t heal people, so its damage should at least be in range of other classes, like rets and enhancement shamans. A BOOMKIN is more tanky, can heal, dispel some debuffs, is ranged, has instant cast spells, ignores all armor, etc. It shouldnt be doing the double DPS of Arms. Its obvious.
There also isnt a category of tank level DPS dps specs. Its not like arms has frost and sub to call homies. Those other talent trees also double Arms dps. So, Arms is very clearly an outlier doing a tiny fraction of what it should. Duh.
The only special treatment Arms is getting is that its the most useless spec in the game by an overwhelming and extreme margin. Its especially BAD. It has no company. My argument is that it shouldnt be special, it should be like every other spec in the game and be viable to play.
So enhancement does on average around 20% less damage than most other dps, and yet people still play it. Is enhancement viable? And how does this change the fact that there’s nothing special about arms that warrants it getting any support? Just admit you like arms specifically and you want arms buffed because it’s your favorite. There’s nothing wrong with that statement.
Yes, it almost double Arms dps. And Arms is special, its the only class that is that extremely low on damage. Every other spec in the game is within a reasonable range and then there is arms way below everyone else and below tanks and healers.
Just admit that you hate warrior and want it to be especially bad. You have no argument. You have nothing. Youre just trying to say that making Arms not do half the dps of the next worst DPS in the game when the gap from the next worst to the top is only 20% makes it special?

Arms is not class, it is one of three talent trees open to players who play the warrior class. It being low damage does not make it particularly special, considering they already confirmed they have no desire to support it. That makes it very normal.

For the last 20 years, everyone looks to dps as a metric for DPS class to be playable, right? Golden years are when everyone does within 10% of each other. 5% gaps are very important. Its classic so we dont need 5% gaps but if its around 20% that aint too bad, right? Okay, we have that, and then one for no reason at all does HALF the next worse DPS in the game? Can you hear yourself? lol
yes, the next worst DPS spec is also based around a talent tree. Bm hunter, sub rogue, frost mage, enhance shaman, are also all talent trees. Boomkin ret and shadowpriest are all talent trees.
What makes Arms special is it is a massive outlier substantially below the next worst DPS. The gap from a ret paladin in 2019 classic to a BiS fury warrior was only a 70% gap. The gap from Arms to the next worst dps is 80% and the top is over 120%.
Clearly there is a problem.
Because you get obliterated every time you speak. The devs themselves said they know arms is useless because they havent spent any time updating it for SoD. Lol, you just keep digging yourself into a deeper hole.
warrior occupies the last 3 spots on the dps chart, the slight buffs to fury helped it bump up a little lol. The biggest problem is that arms is basically half of the next worst damage though, so its not even playable.
in order to spend time making sure every other class has all its talent trees playable PLUS new ways to play (tank rogue, mage healer, etc) they had to give up soooomething, so they chose Arms talent tree to abandon.
The only class I feel that consistently kicks my a$$ are Rogues in open World PvP that don’t completely suck and some tank specs. That backstab spam with ambush procs + instant sebaceous poison is just obnoxious and if you trinket Kidney Shot they can just Blind or use evasion(Overpower isn’t nearly enough of a counter to evasion with a 6 second CD) and if you save trinket for Blind instead of Kidney Shot you’re either dead already or almost dead so it doesn’t matter. SL Warlocks in PvP gear can sometimes be tough but with recklessness + enraged regeneration I usually win.
I do think Arms needs some PvP buffs, mostly in the survivability department since our damage is a little low without any kind of Armor Penetration and plate armor isn’t nearly as useful in SOD. I don’t do as much World PvP anymore because I hate having to use Flask of the Titans every time to beat certain equally geared classes(even with 8.5k HP without it) and that !&$% gets expensive after awhile. I do better in BGs against everyone with the HP buffs. But I strongly disagree that Arms is unplayable in PvP, its just a bit underpowered and requires a brain + proper gear to play it.
And I just realized the T1 6pc bonus for defensive stance only works on physical damage and not all damage like the stance itself does. That’s super lame as most damage in PvP is not physical. That needs to be changed to all damage like Defensive Stance itself does next phase for the shoulder or enchant or I’m definitely going T2.5 4pc for the Taste for Blood solo build I use.
We need more than that, lol… Overpowers tickle, might not be as bad on Ally because they don’t face Pallys, but man, its tough out there in the streets for us trying to damage an equally geared paladin.
Man, when I read people’s posts complaining about the warrior’s situation, you always appear saying that you beat one, you beat another, you beat that one, and blah, blah, blah. I doubt you will beat a shaman, Hunter meele, Paladin, Bookin Starfall if they are all on the same gear level as you. Stop acting nice and bring comments that help the class find a solution to the blizzard. Warrior is the weakest class in pvp, has the lowest damage and has no survivability compared to other classes and runes in wow sod.
Tank pallies you’re right warrior never going to win but it’s the same for tank shamans.
Ret pallies though are usually wearing mostly pve gear so they can be pretty squishy. With no bubble they die pretty easily. If they bubble you can shield wall. Also a lot of them do not use weapon chain so always go for disarm right away.
Ele shamans are pretty damn tough and very slippery I’ve gotta use every trick in the book to beat them. When they’re the type of shaman that uses way of earth and shield mastery runes it’s not going to happen.
I don’t use BRE anymore I think R14 weapon is better.
Boomkins post nerf I will consistently win every time.
Shadow priests I will win almost every time.
Frost mages are now pretty tough match up but all other mages I win.
Good soul link warlocks are very difficult.
Rogues I can usually beat if I have stone form up.
IMO for PvP warriors need a small buff. Small mortal strike dmg buff and slam applies a full stack of sunders would make me very happy. I’d love to get spell reflect and if they made it so swapping weapons didn’t trigger the GCD.
I’ve repeatedly said Arms warriors need some PvP buffs and that we probably are the weakest after the recent mage buffs. I just disagree with people claiming that Arms warriors are unplayable in PvP. If you’re having zero success in PvP then I’m sorry my friend you either need to improve or get the right gear.
And my suggestions to make them better include both survivability buffs and damage buffs like you want but not ludicrous things like 250% MS weapon damage with instant 2.5k armor penetration which would have us either 1 shotting or nearly 1 shotting cloth and leather on a regular basis with enrage and crusader up.
