And now you know how some Druids felt about that cheetah “improvement”.

If Blizzard were smart. THEY will build a old UI template for those that want it, and put it in a drop list. But we know, they aren’t the brightest bulb in the chandelier.

Oh, they’re 100% the minority. Between beta and anyone I play with I’ve only heard positive things about it or at worst, neutral.

The only reason I can see for having this strange rage about the UI is if you click your buttons and now thay’re like barely in different places and you cant figure out how to play, lol.

Even more amazing is anyone claiming that this takes ‘hours’ to fix, besides those having issues with stealth/form bars, that much I can totally understand being frustrated with.

If you are using keybinds for all of your abilities just get your bars sort of close to where they were and move on, it’ll all be okay.

You can get pretty close. Just do the following:

  1. Use esc or the ? in the lower left then click options. Go to action bars.

  2. Uncheck Action Bar 3 so now you have two action bars on the bottom, two verticals on the right.

  3. Then mouse over your toons name, right click and select “edit”

  4. All sorts of light blue shows up. Move your characters name and friend/enemy name to the upper left where they use to be.

  5. Fiddle with the bottom two rows, pet row if you have one to adjust them to where you like it to be.

  6. In the Hud Edit Mode box, upper left is Layout. Click the green “New Layout” and give it a name.

  7. Hit what ever “save”, “ok” or "Return to games and you should be very close to the original UI.

not your modded one however.

I guess the new UI is fine for people that wanted to move stuff on the screen but did not want an addon for that. However, the bars still need some work such as the font size on bigger or smaller bars. I am going to stick to bartender4 just for that single feature and the zero spacing between buttons.

I never once used an addon for UI.

Im not an ultra-sweaty raider who needed everything to be in optimal position or a faux-ultra-sweaty wannabe.

The old UI worked fine.

Blizz could have had a box that says “Use Classic UI” and when you check it have it warn you “Using the Classic UI will prevent you from being able to customise your UI elements”

Because I assume that the old UI was incompatible somehow with being customised so this would have been great.

After 15 years of the UI with minor changes, why do I have to sit and make it look somewhat like how it used to be?

Why is the default Classic not an exact replicated on bar placement and number of what it used to be? Why was that small 6x2 bar on the right moved to be a 12x1 on top of the main bar?

Blizzard moved my setup and I had to go back to the old way but its not the same now. Its just ever so slightly off and you cant 100% replicate it AND THAT is a huge problem.

This was an unwanted change that had so many better alternatives but Blizzard opted for their “meh, its good enough approach” and lowered the bar of effort just a little more.

using mods for ideas isnt bad but forcing us to play with the brickbrack square mod is so boring that’s why I never installed custom ui I just set more hotkeys

I like the new UI, however it does not save no matter what I try. And no word from the blue posters go figure. Back to bartender I go.

The new UI is meh. Used Dominos and Masque prior to it, now it’s just built into the game instead.

I dislike changes. I started s2 of shadowlands. Logging in last night almost made me cry. It’s so hard to get used to. Hard to see power bars. The white color blends in with the green and I’m literally squinting to see anything. :frowning:

Please, for the love of god someone create an add on to give me the default old UI back.

What are you talking about? The UI you had in Shadowlands was not the same one you had since Classic. It saw a major change around Legion/BFA which offset the main action bar to the left and put the game menu and bags right next to it. Did you complain when that happened too?

Yes, the old UI worked “fine” but the new UI is much better and more customisable so if you don’t like it you can quickly and easily configure it to your liking. Your post is a ridiculous take. They made a very good approach and on day 1 they’re already most of the way there with only minor problems to fix.

It really isn’t a mess. It’s already mostly what it needs to be. I would agree that they should allow resizing of the menu bar but otherwise it’s a lateral improvement over the old UI.
